Speaking of M. Nigh Shamalan, you know what the real twist would be? If one movie didn't end with a twist. But that would be a twist... I've encountered paradoxes before, but this baffles me.

I don't see how that is a paradox. People seem to think that changing a surprise with something that wasn't a surprise is somehow a surprise, when it really isn't.
