@Ankara: No it seem to be worldwide. I blame a lot of small mindedness on religion.

@Admiral: It's fine... most religions seem to be very discriminatory, which I've always thought was strange since they're meant for bringing people closer too god but they say lots of people are sinful and make people jump through hoops to supposedly get into paradise.
It certainly feels all religious people are small minded where I live, most hate me without realising it, but I know there are those out there who are fine.

@Ankara: I do know that the Church of Sweden at least officially supports gay marriage.

Never actually wanted to get married... but over here the church refuses to marry gay couples together, we can only have a civil partnership from the government... exact same as marriage though.
Except for the name, yeah. We had that before 2009.
But I suspect that our overall attitude, including the church, is a bit more tolerant compared to most.

My family decided to bring me up in a neighbourhood of strong christians like they are so I'm surrounded by small minded people... makes having a relationship very difficult at times 
It's such a shame when parents decide that their kids must be raised with a religion, as opposed to thinking for themselves. Makes me sad for said kids.

Yeah... my life was pretty messed up before I decided I couldn't believe in their religion anymore and I stopped giving a crap about what people thought of me.
Now while we are on the topic of religion; if there's anyone I'd convert to it's Norse Mythology. Why does bad stuff happen? Because the gods are too drunk from endless parties in Valhalla to care. And if you are awesome enough you get picked up by a valkyrie and carried to Valhalla when you die, so that you too can spend an eternity partying.
