@stranger yes I am still making myself presentable for job hunting. Though I haven't been doing much job hunting lately because I am working on getting my shit together for a job that I pretty much have as long as I can get cpr/first aid certified and the cdc doesn't try and tell me that I have TB cause I had to do a chest xray due to having a bad reaction to the skin tests. I mean logically I KNOW I don't have it but our government and medical "professionals" are weird and half don't do their jobs properly because half assing them is so much easier......Also I've pretty much been told by almost everyone out here that I'm not going to get hired because I'm either too pretty, not pretty enough, or don't speak spanish. Since we have a Starbucks out here that will be opening soon as they are finished building it I'm going to wait to apply til that opens(which will probably be around my birthday in January). And then if I haven't gotten the job I'm going for by then I'll go and start looking heavily again.
@April: Best of luck!! I am presently looking for a second job to help me actually make money as opposed to just making enough to maintain the status quo. School is expensive
I may or may not be 'sick' today, depending on who asks. I called in sick but I am using this time to go job hunting. 3 more hours until the library opens and I can print out resumes! Typing on my phone means I cant use apostrophies or certain emoticons... D:

@April: I'd ask if my cousin might be able to get you a job at Starbucks, but I don't know because he tries to not do favors for family members when it comes to his job. He's the regional manager for all the Starbucks in California which I find to be awesome. Too bad I don't go to Starbucks. XD
Anyway, good luck on the job hunt. I've not been able to work much due to school getting in the way so my paycheck isn't going to be that large for this month. Most of it is going towards rent.

@nero if he could just get me an interview....I swear getting an interview anywhere here is a pain in the ass. And almost all the Starbucks out here I've applied to and of course they only do online applications and when I call to check on the status NO ONE knows anything about it so I really wonder how the people out here have gotten hired..... but yeah. don't worry about it I'll figure something out. I think I'm going to start printing out all my online applications so that when I call/go in to check status' if they know nothing I can go to a manager and hand them the completed application. And I won't touch Starbucks drinks.

@aprilmarie: Eh, there is no such thing as "too pretty". You have been told that, you're been excused for some other BS reason that they arn't allowed to say. In any case, looking hard for a job is something I recommend if finances are really super tight, and I would always recommend it if you can spare the time for such things. Though, your situation sounds like you kind of cannot right now. Just make sure to not be annoying in the job search. Online job searches are there because it makes it easier for them to sort through candidates without really looking at them all, so calling them up is a waste of time.

And I'm not annoying I just do a follow up call or two(depending on if manager is available to talk to or HR person and/or they tell me to call back for follow up). Because that's how I was taught to job hunt.
