I liked the grittiness of the anime though. It was good when needed.

Actaully that reminds me, do you prefer happy or sad endings to a story. I sometimes actaully prefer sad ones as you can usually convey a lot more across in them.

Sad endings are preferred but only in the right circumstances. The ending of the second season was so...cynical. You gotta feel it for Sebastian.
