Definitely not my hard drive, that thing needs to be killed from the face of existence.
I would probably save my bong and weed, considering it's expensive and more valued than food

In all seriousness, I think I'd have to say my diabetic supply kit. Without that, I'm just shit out of luck in less than a day.
I'd say the same thing, only that I think I could easily go more than a day without it. Plus, I could get most of those for free (even the glycometer).

But the one thing I'm surprised that anyone in this thread would leave behind, is their wallet. How do you live when you don't have any identification?!

Also, I'd probably save my laptop. Or my memory stick. My laptop holds a shitlot of information on it, and is a relatively expensive device, but at the same time, I would cry if I lost my memory stick (which reminds me, I should copy all the files I have on my memory stick into my computer, and start saving them in both places).

Firstly I'd toss the kitty out of the window, since he can land on his feet and my apartment is above the height of terminal velocity for kitties. Then I'd grab my bag, oh my holy messengers bag, it contains everything I need for daily life. Since I'm tossing kitty, I do believe that it doesn't count. :)

An Alice in Wonderland banner that I got from the theater I work at

I told my significant other I'd find one and give it to her, and nothing I own is worth more than my word to her.

My portable hard drive, because it contains my music collection (most of the CD's I've ever bought I've painstakingly copied to my computer) and more importantly, thousands of photos and videos I've taken since 2003, plus I'm in the process of converting lots of our old family slides and photographs to digital media, so it would be good to be able to save all of those, especially any photos and videos of my father, who has passed away.

The fire. [/masquerade]

Oh, besides that? Everyone else that lives in the same house, easy. And then myself. You know, if there's any time left. I figure I have a fairly good track record as far as surviving stuff goes.

Um, probably my 360. It's one of the more expensive things that I own.

Alright Escapists. If your house was on fire and you could only save one item, what would it be and why?
You're asking me to choose my tower unit or one of the many pets in my house? How could you...

Gah. Lucky you!
I'm on an insulin pump, and I go through a reservoir of insulin in about a day and a half...so without the stuff I need to refill the thing, I'm in trouble. Sure, I could use injections again, but to do that properly, I'd need the long-acting kind, and I haven't used it in years.

As for the wallet, depending on the time of day, I'd probably already have it on me.
Yes, I walk around the house with my wallet in my pocket. What?

Having experienced the wonders of data loss ~10 hours into a project, I'd say my backpack, which includes my notes and netbook. MUST.SAVE.DATA!
Or my feline, if I were at my parents' house...

My external hard drive. I've got most of my stuff saved on it, and it'd be easier to carry than my entire computer. Everything else is more or less replaceable.

I own a PS3,a fairly expensive PC,a nice camera,a cool guitar.But I would save none of those.

<spoiler=I would save this>

Why would I save a plushie? Because I've had him since my first christmas, that was before I became 1 year old.And he still sleeps in the same bed as me.And I will always keep him intact.
My god, I have that plushie doll, except it was smaller.

My teddy bear lol, yeah sounds odd but I've had him since I left hospital (was in there for first 18 months of my life, lung issues) and is from my grandparents, so it means alot :)
