To answer the OP, part of family is to stick together. A lot of it also depends on the circumstances.
To put things into perspective, I know a bit about the sex industry, more than I probably want to know though I'm hardly an expert. As one prostitute I knew (working at a casino) put it, being a call girl/escort is no worse at it's worst than an episode of Jackass, except she probably makes better money than Steve-O with less actual risk.
So basically if my son/daughter was working at the (relatively) high end of the sex industry it probably wouldn't be my first choice for their career, but I suppose I'd support it if it was what THEY wanted to do.
Now on the other hand if my son/daughter was a bloody junky and basically turning tricks for peanuts to support a habit, that would be something else entirely, and of course my involvement would be... interesting.
Truthfully, there is a point at which you can't stop someone from self destructing no matter how much you love them, and truthfully if things got to that point and there was nothing I could do about it, I'd probably be destroyed, it can happen though.
To put things into perspective I guess, if she's making a hundred grand a year, or running her own label (like some porn stars have managed to do, Jenna Jameson being an example), and is happy doing it, who am I to criticize?
I suppose if I was from some old and pretigious family it would be differant, but I'm not.
Also as many should know from other messages I am *NOT* a fan of prostitution (which is admittedly differant from the porn industry at least on paper). This is very much a "what if" scenario and a child of mine wound up working within the legal gray area. I might not be happy, but I would support it I guess.
