The Uncharted series feels like it has been made to impress non gamers & game journalists with "cinematic gameplay" and making them "just like a movie" than actually doing something unique.Don't get me wrong they are great games but not "mind blowing industry standard setting amazing experience" as PS3 fans and reviewers claim it is.

They gave GTA IV a perfect 10 when the game was anything but a perfect 10. I thought Saints Row 1 and 2 was better than GTAIV in every way shape and form, what does that make Saints Row? 12/10? Saints row 2 a 400/10?

Its not on par with MGS4, IGNs only other 10/10 game. Its nowhere near as innovative, the gameplay is nowhere near as skillfull. Its cinematic yes, and the voice acting is amazing, but on par with MGS4? Hehe, no. Fun games all of them but not 10/10BESTGAMEEVARlol

Its IGN, they're the douchey slime of the gaming industry.
Funny, last time I paid full launch price for a game was Metal Gear Solid 4 based on review scores like that.

I got BURNED so bad that since then I haven't bought a game on launch at full price no matter how glowing the reviews are.

Seriously, it's more than a Movie, it's a god-damn DVD box-set TV series of people talking utter bollocks that shits ALL OVER the original games that I played and loved. Kojima has pulled a George Lucas, I mean what the hell happened?

"Its not on par with MGS4... the gameplay is nowhere near as skillfull."

Srsly? With the Octocamo and tranq pistol you have literally no god damn challenge at all, you will never be seen and can pump darts into the stupid AI all day and never get caught. And you CAN'T TURN THE OCTOCAMO OFF!!! It is so unbalanced.

Speed runs for the game is literally the player pressing forward and rolling occasionally, they don't care if they get seen... it's no problem, they can just run past them every time.

I don't think I could ever give any Playstation game a good score, since that piece of junk of a controller makes everything pretty much unplayable.

News just in - Highly anticipated "AAA" title gets a high score ... people on forums act like it's never happened before.

That was all on As the Lemming Turns. Tune in next time for more pointing out of the painfully bloody obvious.

I was already planning on giving it a look after playing the first two.
Even then, I take the 10 rating with a huge grain of salt. That reviewer (Greg Miller) tends to get a bit overzealous about certain games. It's tough to fault a guy for such an enthusiasm for gaming, though.

IGN isn't an entity that has opinions. IGN's PS3 fanboy Greg Miller gave the game a 10. Honestly, the number is meaningless to me. I'm gonna play Uncharted 3, regardless of what scores that are posted on IGN, Gamespot, Joystiq, or 1up. It's probably a great game no matter what the reviews hyperbolize. I'm going to play it, and I doubt I'll call it overrated.

People have really deflated the meaning the word 'overrated'. I use it to say that something is bad but received praise. I'd say that Dead Island was overrated because it received good reviews and it was broken right out the box. People call Halo overrated, and that's one of the most well-built games I can think of off the top of my head.

It makes me regret my investment in gaming when people bicker about reviews. Form your own damn opinions. For the most part, reviews of AAA games don't have much effect on the sales. Marketing, on the other hand, does affect sales.

Does Uncharted 3 deserve a 10? I'll have to play it to find out, but I've loved Naught Dog games since Jak & Daxter The Precursor Legacy.

No game is ever a 10/10. I hate seeing games rated 8/10 because there is always improvements to be made whether it be story, characters, controls, visuals, etc.

This smacks of fanboyism and someone getting paid off.

IGN = Dumb fucks who are constantly being paid off.

So, are we done here or shall we dig up their bespectacled history of bad moves?
Again, this [http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-3/uncharted-3-drakes-deception], 40 positive reviews with 13 of them being perfect scores. I don't see the problem here.
I wonder how many of the 'gamers' here who are calling foul have actually played the game for themselves.

Meh, I personally would've docked it to a 9.5 for the subpar multiplayer, but that is just my personal take on the game.

Exclusives / 1st party stuff getting high scores makes people asshurt because whatever game they're identifying with didn't. Cue the 'paid off! fanboy!' bullshit. If the new Zelda doesn't get a 10/10 (or even if it does) it'll be more of the same. The internet needs constant virtual reassurance that whatever they like is the best.

Meh, just sounds like the resident series fanboy got to do the review.
Maybe it's actually that good, who knows.

But I certainly wont get it. Why?
Do you have ANY idea what a new PS3 game costs here? About $110, Basic version -,-

Better than those pretentious "we never give out 10/10s because no game is ever completely perfect" folks.
Well that's your opinion ^_^ and that's fine, but I've personally always seen a 10/10 as that un-obtainable goal that devs strive for, now that's over it would seem but I'll save my full opinion until I play the game, it could infact be that good for all I know. We all have opinions, ours are just different, that's all. Anyways at the end of the day the whole rating system is fairly broken anyway because a game that's 7.7 now would still be superior to a game that was 7.7 10 years ago

The problem is that people view the ratings different.
some see 10/10 and think this must be the perfect game
some see 10/10 and think he must have really liked this game

oh well im still gonna buy it.

Ah. One of two things was always going to happen:

1.) IGN gave Uncharted a perfect score? They're completely bias, idiotic imbeciles who are being paid out by Sony... or
2.) IGN didn't give Uncharted a perfect score? Those f**king pussies. They clearly didn't play the game properly or they're too scared to give a perfect score incase they enrage the crowd formed by 1.) .

Personally, I'm going to reserve judgement until I play the game, but I loved the first two, so unless Naughty Dog have crafted something worthy only of being pissed on, I can probably safely assume I'm going to enjoy this one.

Seriously though, they gave this game a 10 in graphics while battlefield 3 got a 9.5. It is starting to look like the people over at IGN don't even play these games.
You are basing your opinion of them off of an arbitrary .5 difference in the ratings of two aspects of two completely different games?
