Ialways see 10/10, as a disappointing score. No professional reviewer should give out 10/10 more than one every few years. But GTA IV and MGS4 got that the same year from more than one review site.
Personally? I never really 'got' MGS series, I always thought it was a pointless attempt at stealth gameplay when compared to 'real' stealth games like Splinter Cell. And GTAIV? I loved it, got tired of it, finished Red Dead Redemption, and was then unable to ever enjoy GTAIV again.
(Drive from point A to point B. Follow/chase car From point A to point B. Fun Gunfight. Repeat forever. Will always be compared to complete freedom on a horse, excellent combat system, and allies who actually help in gunfights rather than call you to demand going bowling)
But I 'get' the Uncharted series. I see these games as an excellent translation of movie "action 'flicks" into game form. I love them. Is the story great, deep, involved? No. But the same goes for movie action 'flicks, you don't watch those for the story. Is the dialogue clever? In a cliché and humorous way, yes (Again, like your average movie action 'flick). But you're not there to get involved in the story, you're there to watch the story sweep you away from action scene to gunfight, and those part are where you're involved. Which happens to translate great into games, since those are the gameplay parts.
Do I think this game deserves a 10/10, even without playing it? Probably not (I'll have to plat it first, but I still think it's unlikely. Besides, I find IGN to usually go a little too easy on games.) Will I buy it unless it gets horrible reviews? Definitley.(Gamespot gave it 9/10. I rarely look beyond the two of them, especially if I already know I enjoy the series)
