IGN Gives Uncharted 3 a 10 out of 10

Greg Miller was the reviewer. He always hands out bigger scores than games deserve. Well, it's Uncharted 3, only the most anticipated game for console since.. I don't know. They had to give it a good score, or get raged at. Imo, Uncharted is overrated as f-.

Nothing new here.

Giving a score of 10 out of 10 means that it is perfect in every possible way with no need for improvement. That's like putting the game on the same pedestal as The Aeneid, and, as a consequence, defines the (lack of) intelligence of said reviewer when it comes to scores.

I went to an Uncharted 3 press event and had a play of the game - it was good, but not as good as Ass Creed or Batman or any of its other competitors. I don't see how IGN can give batman 9.5/10 and this 10/10

It's entretaining, but its full of issues , i don't think it deserves a 10.
Story, gameplay and graphics aren't so perfect and orgasmic that it deserves a 10...IGN you are just...crazy.

Well i kinda meant the series itself, I find that it lacks in every departament and i like to take series as a whole and not individual games.

Well, it's probably good then. That being said, Gamesradar gave fucking Bulletstorm a 10. A 10 doesn't mean much these days.

Seriously, do you want them to pull 3 points because FPS fans wont like it? And another 3 points because RPG fans wont? And another 3 points because its not a space sim?

Um... that was my point? The numeric reviewing system is broken and isn't worth paying attention to.

Yeah, well, neither do a lot of games we all love. Uncharted takes a bunch of familiar elements and works them over to a point where they're nearly perfect. And we see the results. There's nothing wrong with the pursuit of mastery.

"It got a 10/10? Well, IGN gets paid off all the time because it's a AAA game, etc."

Please don't jump to conclusions like this. YOU haven't even played the game yet. How can you deem the reviewers wrong when they're the ones who have actually played the game. I understand that the general mentality here on the Escapist is fairly elitist, but stuff like this is what makes non-elitists hate us.

I preordered Uncharted 3 during the summer and have no intentions of canceling.

I sorta agree, at least with the lasy 2, I haven't played the 3rd (although I doubt I will). Don't get me wrong, their not bad games, just a bit average? They don't deserve the glowing reviews they get, I suppose that comes with IGN and PSN and whatnot being in Sony's pocket.

Hey you're perfectly entitled to feel they're "average" games. But accusing reviewers of being bribed or influenced because of your opinion is silly. Despite the haters on this site they're actually very well-liked games with almost no bad reviews.

I'd rather just go back to playing Batman, and to be honest i'm glad I picked the xbox over the PS3. Xbox exclusives like the Gears series, Halo series and other Xbox exclusives like Crackdown 1 and 2 are much more appealing to me than the Uncharted series.

I guess it makes you wonder about legitimacy. But then again it's fairly consistant with how it's reviewing elsewhere.

I'm getting it. If what I hear is true, I'm going to get more use out of my 3DTV than I have for a long time.

I've always been curious about this game series. But I've always hesitated at the game store because the amount of talk about the "cinematic set pieces" overshadows everything else I hear about it, and it makes me think it's not much more than a QTE fest...how true is this? Is the platforming anything like Prince of Persia?

And also I've worried about the lasting value (Read: length and replayability. I don't do multiplayer) due to how goddamn pretty they look. Though not too much anymore now that there's three games in the series...

Also, Nathan Drake looks like a human Crash Bandicoot to me.
