I hate when people flame me because I play Guitar Hero and Halo, own a 360, and use Facebook constantly. Apparently I'm everything that people here hate.

I bet Yahtzee has all of those things but nobody flames him.

Partially because the community worships him but mostly because he doesn't use them in the same way as everybody else. He probably uses them in some edgy, vitriolic, cynical way that people expect him to use it.

My cousin doesn't give RPGs a chance, just because they involve something more than shooting people repeatedly.

Most people I know think of metal as nothing more than speed and screeching. Which, of course, isn't always the case.
