I'm scared of things with long limbs. humans, monkeys, spiders, whatever. If they are too long then I'm fighting the urge to go hide.

For example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Uvt83YWWWY I really have to fight myself if I want to finish the whole thing, regardless of how hilarious I think it is.

I'm not scared of death, but I am scared of dying on terms that are not my own, even though I can't really imagine a way that I would like to die. If that makes any sense.

I thought I didn't have any fears for the longest time, then I realized that I have a fear of failure.

Probably the fear that I deal with more than any other, is the fear of losing my sanity. I've had temporary experiences with genuine disassociation from the consensus reality, and while they can occasionally be moments of intense bliss and beauty, more often I find them a source of fear and terror. I think to myself "what if I didn't go back to normal? What if I'm stuck here, and have to live out the rest of my life interacting with these objects of the 'real' world which lack any meaning to me, until I ultimately probably kill myself so I don't have to deal with it anymore?"

So yeah, that's my fear, losing my marbles.

I'm scared of parasites, except mosquitos. I've lived around them long enough to get used to them. Ticks, fleas and pinworms scare the fuck out of me. Any kind of itch around my rear causes instant paranoia after my encounter with the pinworms.

I generally don't like small things being upon my person, especially if I can't see them.

Fear of grounds, looking at tall objects makes me dizzy.
Extremely confined spaces, think crawling into an airvent so tight you can only go one way and that way is a dead end.
The coalition government
Anything with more than 4 limbs capable of movement.
Mirrors, especially when they are only in the corner of my eye.
Death.

Well, my main fears in both categories are these:

Rational: death. (pretty damn bad, as well, to the extent that it can keep me up all night)

Irrational: sharks.

Wasps. I have an absolute terror of wasps. If one is near me I will drop whatever I'm holding, whether its a cup of tea, a bag or a baby, and run screaming down the road.

Wasps are the only insect I have no problem killing. Sometimes I take joy in it, I hate them so much.

Cars. I can't really drive them, they scare the hell out of me. So many people die from them and so many idiots behind the wheels. It drives (no pun intended) me nuts.

Also being alone. I always have to have a friend nearby, or I start to get extremely depressed for some reason.

Like many in this thread I used to be afraid of dying, terribly to the point where my mind was flooded and I couldn't sleep at night. But death is inevitable, and who knows what it could bring. Sure it may just be an end to everything, complete nothingness, but it could also be an entire new beginning, we won't know 100% for sure until we face it. Besides even if it is nothingness it's not like we'll be able to care, so just enjoy life and when death arrives embrace it with open arms. In the words of Isaac Amisov:

"Life is pleasant. Death is peaceful. It's the transition that is troublesome."

I am afraid of and fascinated by heights. I've always wanted to know what it would feel like to fall a hundred stories. But I've never wanted to know what impact feels like.

The very idea that I am tantalized by assured death scares me.

Probably the only thing I'm affected by that can be considered a "phobia" (as opposed to my occasional vertigo, which is more a neural issue) is insects. More specifically, I cannot tolerate insects touching me. The most beautiful, ethereal butterfly in the world could land on my arm and I would probably smash it into a pulp trying to get it off of me.

If they're just doing their own thing, not causing me any problems, I'm perfectly fine with them. Except of course for the nastier, larger or dangerous ones (huge spiders, wasps, etc.). They need to be nowhere near me.

Insects, especially the buzzing ones. I can control myself but when some hornet starts to make sudden movements close to me, one of us will die.
Also anything with more than 4 legs with size more than 5 cm. Once my sister fooled me with large fake insects but until I knew they were fake I was frozen in fear. Thats why I would rather live somewhere in safari with sever lions hanging around rather than spend a day in Australia.
