Which gaming archetype do you always play?

For me, I'm always the side of beef, the warrior, the tank, the one with an axe who tends to detest hit evasion in favour of catching blows with his head. Big boot or axe swing later, and the enemy is in pieces. Hooray!

How about you? Are you the quick rogue, the powerful but badly defended mage? The noble and oft-unsung healer?

Which character do you rush to play when you start a new game?

I'm always the skillful rogue.
I must have some sort of OCD, because I just can't stand to see chests and doors sitting there all locked up and stuff.
How dare people try to hide things from me by locking them up!

I'm support. Whatever the party needs, that's me!

I have a preference for healing, but I'll also support cast, rogue it up, whatever.

If it's a solo game, I'm the mage, however, with as many fire spells as I can hold.

I am a stealth or ranged player. I purposefully avoid engaging in open combat and usually only fight when I have the advantage. If it looks like I will lose, I'm gone.

Whichever has the biggest tactical variety. In D&D it's mages, but in certain RPGs I enjoy fighters or warriors. Rogues are not really my style.

Also, Soldier in TF2.

I'm almost always the mage, as in my group of friends nobody seems to think it's ever any good.

And I has to prove them wrongggg >:D

It drives me crazy as well, that's why I always have a rogue in my party.

OT: I change depending on the game. If it's a very magical game, I'm usually a power mage, so I don't lose out on the fun. Other times I'm a warrior if the game isn't all too magical (except ME series), or the occasional rogue.

In single player games I tend to play the tank type, so I'll have the survivability if shit hits the fan. In MMO's however I often play the support roles.

A thief who's able to stand and fight if needed. With a bit of magic/tech if its available. Usually something healing related.

Mainly a thief because picking locks/stealing is just so damn rewarding to me.

Left to my own devices I tend to go for the bruiser or battlemage more than any other character options, but when in a group (online FPS, tabletop RPG, whatever) I'll happily defer into whatever role is most benficial to the party. Partly because I'm a team player but mostly because playing the dumb guy with the axe all the time gets old quick.

Either the warrior or a lesser form of a melee character (thief or stealth) Just don't expect me to be the healer since I hate that role.

The guy who pours all his skill points into lockpicking and speech, i can't stand having any locked door stand in my way and persuading everyone in the room to join me is always awesome.

If ME3 has a "persuade the Reapers" option i'd find out about in my first playthrough

I'm always the guy with the most strength, health, and the biggest, heaviest weapon I can find. And I wear a red shirt whenever possible. I charge head-first into situations that are guaranteed to result in death. And I have this nasty habit of surviving... most of the time.

I tend to play best in FPSs as the medic class, but in RPGs I'm usually a barbarian (or the next closest thing).

Normally the Tank as I'm fricking terrible at stealth and magic. But I also usually pour my points into speech and lockpicking and other necessities like that.

Mage, basically, I hit hard and heavy but don't worry too much about defence. Also like to snipe enemies at a range, because then low armour doesn't matter much xD
