I generally play a fighter type character. Soldiers are what I usually play when I tabletop game simply because I'm good at it and because I'm not "Herp derp, swing sword." stupid about it either. I've also played scout/scoundrel in the Star Wars tabletops I've played since I had to prove that you didn't have to be a forceuser to be badass (see Han Solo, Chewie, and others).

In shooters, I generally go for the sneaky sniper, but that doesn't mean I'm bad at charging in guns a blazing when the occasion calls for it. Believe me, sometimes it does.

I'm well rounded enough to do just about anything well, including the magic user classes and the like, but I have friends that insist on playing certain types of characters, which pretty much leaves me as the tank or support guy. It also annoys me that our "talky" guy has all the social grace of a homeless person that was just dunked in a vat of radioactive poo.

In fallout anyway, I tend to be the paladin who is a cannibal. He just can't help but give in to these urges, but he does some really good things to make up for it.

As per normal, I am the paladin. I often don't even steal things as that would be against my paladinly code

Heavily armored lancer cavalry. I charge in for a poke, then smash heads a bit before scurrying away for another go. I go for the heaviest armor and strongest weapons. I use my horse to give me speed to catch any light infantry and to help me punish heavy infantry. My armor helps me defeat spearmen and helps keep me from being slaughtered by faster ranged cavalry.

I usually play as a jack-of-all-trades type so I know the basic of healing, lockpicking, etc. I also make sure that I can always dual wield. Mmmmmmmmm.......dual wield.

Always the critical hit/sneak attack rogue, nothing better than sneaking up behind the boss and slicing them up :)

Which gaming archetype do you always play?

For me, I'm always the side of beef, the warrior, the tank, the one with an axe who tends to detest hit evasion in favour of catching blows with his head. Big boot or axe swing later, and the enemy is in pieces. Hooray!

How about you? Are you the quick rogue, the powerful but badly defended mage? The noble and oft-unsung healer?

Which character do you rush to play when you start a new game?
All of the above. just one get's boring after a while, but my 3 most favored are the woodchipper fighter(dual wielding), the "WHY IS IT NOT OF FIRE?!!" mage, and the cynical city rogue.

I almost always play as the rogue, occasionally the mage, but mostly rogue. I like being sneaky and swipe other people's stuff when they're not paying attention. And those chests aren't going to loot themselves, and those doors and windows that are locked? Why? It just encourages me to pick them.

Depends on the game, but since we seem to be going classical rpg style, I'm most often a heavily enchanted sword-wielder, I work okay in teams, but I really tend to shine when I get alone. I kind of dance around mauling everyone in melee range.

Always the Healer.

Always, always, always the Healer.

I keep trying to break away, but it sucks me back in like a dark void of low health bars and threats of potential party death that cause me to wake up in the night screaming.

...

But yeah. Healer.
