When im talking mainstream im usally meaning pop, rnb and hip hop stuff.
But yes there are mainstream metal bands, I wouldn't say Lamb of God would be mainstream.
Mainstream in my eyes is a artist or band that gets aloooot of media attention aka. Radio, magazines (like what they had for lunch, omg they ate a bagel! they are fat asses!!!! blasphemy!!!) and alot of tv exposure, aka MTV etc.
LoG does get a lot of media support though. Like Trivium and some others, they appear on metal magazines, and MTV Headbanger's Ball, almost all the time. You don't have to be on every channel and radio station to be mainstream. Just a few of them.
Well, That would mean ALL bands that have appeared in a metal magazine is mainstream right?
And the headbangers ball will just air whatever metal is popular in those magazines.

Seriously though Everyone download Grey Britain By Gallows, its amazing.
Whats it like compared to "orchestra of wolves"?
Faster, Lot more punk than hardcore, you really feel the UK vibe on this album, its dirty and has more fast songs, id say its better.
In that case I'll check it out. I like Gallows and saw them play in Yeovil when they were still relatively unheard of. o_O.W. was a pretty good album but I've never given it much of a chance so I'll put it on a look at 'Grey Britain' now.

then you should check out Isis' new album Wavering Radiant.
Mewithoutyou is worth checking out.
Amesoeurs new ST album should be up your alley. has some black metal parts, but you can enjoy/skip those.
Wavering Radiant is damn impressive, though there is quite a bit of screaming.
I'm going to also recommend the same albums I suggested to Classic Rock guy, "The Devil I Know" by Heave & Hell, "Into the Labyrinth" by Saxon, and "Freedom Metal" by Bible of the Devil. Also, Death Magic Doom by Candlemass, why? I feel like mentioning it. That's why.

Dan Auerbach - Keep It Hid
The Mars Volta - Octahedron
Jeffrey Lewis And The Junkyard - Em Are I
Future Of The Left - Travels With Myself And Another !!!
More albums I will check out post haste!
Sort of shocked I haven't gotten around to the new Mars Volta yet, good Prog group. Assuming you ever see this, which album is Octahedron similar to? Just so I know what to expect. I'm one of those queer Amputechture fans.

Which reminds me that I still need to look up quite a few albums;

Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix by Phoenix
Primary Colors by The Horrors
The Pains of Being Pure at Heart ST
Whisper House by Duncan Sheik
March of the Zapotec EP by Beirut

Many others as well, I'm behind.

Its a decent album in my opinion, the only thing is, it recycles a lot of stuff from In the Absence of Truth.

Isis are the poster-boys of Post-Metal, but Pelican is by far my favorite Post-metal band.

See, trouble is that I'm unfamiliar with Isis and the Post Metal scene in general. Wavering Radiant was simply dumped onto my lap with a few dozen other Metal albums from 09 and it was certainly a stand-out. I'm going to check out their other albums, I have to for comparison's sake because I know it'll be on my best of list at the end of 09... pretty sure anyway. Which means I'll be writing a review on a different forum, so I need to do some research.

I'll be sure to check out Pelican soon too. Any album you recommend? Feel free to post a favorite song.

Get over to Last.fm and listen to the following:

- La Roux
- Alex Roots
- Pixie Lott

Also, Reverend and the Makers, though they aren't exactly new. Sheffield indie group, pretty damn good too :D

Hoping to get the new Greenday album soon, plus Fall Out Boy's Folie a Deux was also great. Generally though, I've been listening to more stuff on the internet rather than buying new music on CD...

Not all of them, just the ones on the cover and in the "top stories" section or whatever. Think about it. An editor isn't going to write an article for say, Cross Examination when he could write about LoG instead when they have a huge international following.
