Distracting? If you are worried, go to them now and make sure nothing happens, for the sake of your conscience!

Basically do what everyone else is saying. Go to that person's house right now. Put on a strong face and steel your mind.

well, this is going to sound quite harsh but people that actually tell people that they're going to commit suicide don't actually do it. They talk about it to get attention and get people to worry about them, but they never actually go through with it.

I've met plenty of people that have said they are going to commit suicide, including my own mother, and I just leave them until they get over that phase, because it is just a phase. They feel as if their world can't go on anymore and that they just want to die, but they never actually kill themselves.

So the best thing I can tell you is to just wait, leave them to their self-pity and just relax, they'll pull through :)

I've done things like that in the past, though not to such a degree, luckily.

People tend to be suicidal just from talking to me though. :/
Awww man why do you say that?

I don't know why, but this actually made me burst out laughing. You just sound so self-depreciating, and i'm sure there's no need to be.
You can't be so sure. For example, I've got the reputation of being a HUGE buzz-kill, and with good reason. Not that this was ever reason enough for the way some pricks treated me.
While it wasn't entirely serious, I am very aware that I'm quite irritating (I talk too much) and that I am, you guessed it, self-depreciating. Partly as a result of the way people react to me.

But I'm good. :)

Ignore it. As others have said, people who talk about suicide won't do it, they're just after the attention. Plus, if this person loved you as you claim to love them, they wouldn't put you through this kind of worry and panic in the first place.

Don't you think that's a tad inappropriate? Nonetheless, I can't stop laughing at the suggestion. I feel like an ass now.

I'm going to throw another vote for "they're doing it to get at you for hurting them mildly".

It seems to be working, so you're losing right now. Tell them they're an eejit for self harm and don't beg them not to cut themselves.

Edit: You've actually done nothing to wrong/hurt them? Get out of the relationship, it's not going to end well, they aren't ready to be in that sort of thing if they're just wanting the attention.

If you want distracting:

*juggles kittens*

And the kittens are robots.
WITH LASER EYES.
*Reads the post* Must.. ready.. rope..and...an unstable.. chair!...

OT: Go to his/her house and talk to him/her and say you'r sorry for whatever you did. If they've done something well.. Don't blame yourself, you tried getting in touch.

For distraction: Sporeout! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnDnewDQc7U (if you've played Fallout 3) ;)

Get to that person now! If you've hurt them, it is up to you to make it right, and if it is something this serious, you better be leaving the house at the speed of sound! If you can't reach that person physically, call around, get a lift, find some way of contact.

Oh and also

Incidentally, I will say this. People who say they'll commit suicide rarely do. I knew a lot of people who committed suicide, and it's always the ones who never say a thing that do. I'm not saying that doesn't mean they will, but it does give you time.
I am a former person who always talked about suicide, and have tried on numerous occasions. Cutting my neck open, falling down the stairs ON PURPOSE and hitting my head off a stone floor. I was left with severe bruises and cuts from both, and clearly, I have failed to commit suicide. I am happy I haven't but this proves the point that there is no difference between those who talk, and those who do not.

(No Calumon now. Too dark a topic)

Hey now, that series of games kept me going through some of the worst suicidal times in my life. Its hell of a lot of fun.
Sounds backwards to me, but "fight fire with fire" I suppose, but I still agree, it is indeed a hell of a lot of fun.

I hope you're right.

I'm contacting people and doing what I can do from here. I really don't want to get the police involved though.
If it's really that serious, you should contact the police. I mean, they are not only there for fighting crime. They should be able to help you with something like this.

In fairness i have no idea who you are and even reading that sentence im losing the will to live.
No, that sentence damaged my will to live. If you are referring to yourself, then you use a capital "I" and you put an apostrophe in "I'm" I know you're new, but please use correct grammar, it annoys those of us who do.

OT: If you really think this person is a suicide risk, go over there.
Call other people and tell them to go there too, and if it comes to it, call the police.
Don't sit on the internet talking about it, go.

Honestly, if you REALLY think this person could have committed suicide, you shouldn't be distracting yourself. You should be trying harder.
This please, if you want a distraction use a porn site.

thanks for that CatKid, Furburt, text book psychology isn't always right.

Also CatKid, don't go pulling that shit no more, its fun to see Jack and Calumon on the forums.
