In my opinion, suicide is always an option and shouldn't be so looked down upon. It's the final way of saying "Screw ya'll, my body and consciousness belongs to me and I'm not your slave". Only the one with the ability to destroy something truly owns it.

Otherwise, uh, go to their house? This might be the age of electronics, but physical contact still exists. Of course, depending on what you did, it might not be the option. Or whatever.

Bonding to people too much is never a good thing.

Honestly, if you REALLY think this person could have committed suicide, you shouldn't be distracting yourself. You should be trying harder.
This please, if you want a distraction use a porn site.

Get to that person now! If you've hurt them, it is up to you to make it right, and if it is something this serious, you better be leaving the house at the speed of sound! If you can't reach that person physically, call around, get a lift, find some way of contact.

Oh and also

Incidentally, I will say this. People who say they'll commit suicide rarely do. I knew a lot of people who committed suicide, and it's always the ones who never say a thing that do. I'm not saying that doesn't mean they will, but it does give you time.
I am a former person who always talked about suicide, and have tried on numerous occasions. Cutting my neck open, falling down the stairs ON PURPOSE and hitting my head off a stone floor. I was left with severe bruises and cuts from both, and clearly, I have failed to commit suicide. I am happy I haven't but this proves the point that there is no difference between those who talk, and those who do not.

(No Calumon now. Too dark a topic)
thanks for that CatKid, Furburt, text book psychology isn't always right.

Also CatKid, don't go pulling that shit no more, its fun to see Jack and Calumon on the forums.
It's alright. Anti-depressants have helped, as well as the helpful suggestions from the Escapist.

I started here as a Drama Llama, but instead of saying, "Go back to your Blog" you guys brought me into here and you have grown me into a better person with a hell more confidence. Thus I thank the ENTIRE Escapist for taking me in.

Also, I went to 4chan before The Escapist, so... yeah... Kinda bad.

But the point is, none of that crap is gonna happen EVER again, and I'm gonna make sure of it!

Don't go back man, stay here, your fun to read.

My dad's the same, he's got severe bipolar so if he doesn't take his meds he thinks he's a spy, stupid idiot tortured himself last year in a Jack Bauer style interogation. But on meds he's fine, only problem is if he misses a one or two days doses he's off the rails again.

Sounds sad but you get used to it to the point its actually kinda funny, my dad's a fucking spy.

Despite Calumon's dislike of English tea, the lack of Calumon in those two posts has made my day a much darker, scarier one.

You have put me in an awkward situation where I told someone, that to spare those people who find Calumon Annoying, I would give Calumon a break for some threads, but the absence of Calumon has indeed made this place darker than a basement when the light has exploded. So, since the main topic was about distractions, here is Calumon.

Calumon: *Yawns*Hi guys, I heard you missed me... I don't want anyone to get hurt. I hope that you can sort things out with this person, but avoiding it will just make it worse. Talk to this person, and say that you never want anything bad to happen to them. You need to show how you truly feel to them, and before you know it, I bet you'll be playing again!

People tend to be suicidal just from talking to me though. :/
I don't know why, but this actually made me burst out laughing. You just sound so self-depreciating, and i'm sure there's no need to be.
You can't be so sure. For example, I've got the reputation of being a HUGE buzz-kill, and with good reason. Not that this was ever reason enough for the way some pricks treated me.
I think being a buzzkill is slightly different from making people want to kill themselves... Slightly ;)

Are you sure its pure bi-polar? Rather than some kind of psychosis? Ive (IVE IVE IVE IVE, mwahahaha) never known bi-polar to cause anything other than wild mood imbalances.
Yeah its the extreme proper form of Bi Polar, its like Schizophrenia but actual different personalities that act out over a course of several months, instead of constant changes... so its spy for 6 months, normal person 6 months then hugely agorophobe for 6 months.

The spy is the easiest one to deal with, because the normal person could flip anytime and the agorophobe can't be help in any way. His meds are good though, only problem is they take 3 months to kick in properly, so if he misses a dose or two and he flips to another personality, were stuck with someone scared of the outside world or someone that will hurt himself for 3 months.

Luckily, he wants to take his meds, only took us six years but we all got there in the end. Sorry if you don't know but Bi Polar people don't normally want to take their meds because they feel good, and who could blame him, he's a fucking spy!.

edit, I talk alot.

In fairness i have no idea who you are and even reading that sentence im losing the will to live.
No, that sentence damaged my will to live. If you are referring to yourself, then you use a capital "I" and you put an apostrophe in "I'm" I know you're new, but please use correct grammar, it annoys those of us who do.
EDIT: However I DO deserve flaming for my total inability to use the quote tool ;)

Never, going to, happen.

Substance over style ;)

And so as to not get totally up your nose I do try and be as grammatically correct as possible without being anal. I don't see a quick message on a forum as needing perfect spelling and grammar.
And I don't see why a quick message would take so much effort to look over, or to use the shift key as you go.

Though snipping long walls o' text is hard, because it's hard to remember how many people have said anything, and how many "/quote"s you've gone past.

So, I made someone I love very much feel bad, and the last time I talked to them, they talked about suicide. And this person is suicidal to begin with. They aren't answering their phone, I cant get in touch with them at all. I've spent the last few hours just sitting around crying and waiting. I'm scared to death that they have done something. I love this person more than anything else in the world. I really don't know what to do.

Escapist, please just distract me for a while.
Google the LHC, it is a very interesting piece of technology. Try reading about string theroy, I can garentee THAT will distract you for a good while.

This!

I'm not about to judge, but postings like this on a friggin forum make you sound like an attention whore.
You know what you should be doing and don't need some complete stranger to tell you.

distraction... distraction... found one!!!

Q: Doctor, I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good!
Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!! ..... Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans ! Another vegetable!!! It's the best feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?
A: Hey! 'Round' is a shape!

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets.

And remember:
'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

AND.....

For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies.

1. The Japanese eat very little fat
and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat
and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

3. The Chinese drink very little red wine
and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine
and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

5. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

CONCLUSION

Eat and drink what you like.
Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

Get out of house, magnifying glass, search and locate person and stick to him/her 24/7. And probably warn his/her folks if you get that he/she wasn't kidding about going over the edge.

If you're really worried, stop looking for distraction and see what you can do. If he/she isn't picking up the phone, go to their house, call their parents, call the cops; do any of the smart things they've suggested so far, just get off your ass and do something! Crying and waiting aren't gonna do anybody any good.

I kind of know what it's like to be in your position. There was nothing I could do to distract myself, I just sat in my bed and cried while my best friend was on the line to his girlfriend of the time (also my good friend), trying to convince her to not kill herself.

In your position I think you should do absolutely everything in your power to get in contact with that person.
