I have been really Depressed lately and i dont know what to do...I use to be a healthy happy student but now im just falling apart

I cant sleep.... in the past 2 weeks i think ive gotten about maybe 8-10 hrs of sleep and when i wake up after i finally get some sleep i wake up in a cold sweat and panicing

I cant eat anymore....My appitite is terrible now i use to be a bottomless pit but now im lucky to eat maybe a small meal every day

I have developed some unhealthy habbits like drinking and some other stuff

I dont have anyone i can trust in my life right now and well ive decided to goto my favorite forum on the intarwebz to help solve my problems

so....

what should I do about my depression=(

See your doctor as soon as possible, and you can start from there.

You're not alone, i suffered from depression & anxiety most of my life and i'm on the road to recovering

Try and solve the reason you feel depressed - there has to be a reason why you don't feel the same way you used to.

Yea because people on the internet who don't know you are going to know how to stop your depression from 6 lines of text which generally takes trained people paid bag loads of money a very long time to help fix.

I know exactly how you feel, I even made the awful, awful decision of dropping out of high school because of depression for reasons I don't want to get into. Try taking some time for you and only you, blow off your friends and sit around the house playing your favorite game. :)

Lots of people suffer from depression in their lives, it's only natural. Just know you're not alone, and see someone about it

Ill try seeing my doctor and see what he says...

Thanks for your help ill get back to this post tommorrow morning to give you more information

(i have an idea about why im depressed but right now i dont feel comfortable talking about it to anyone)

Your doctor can best judge the situation here. It might be a case of changing your diet and lifestyle, being more active can help. It may be due to your lack of sleep, and there are ways you can deal with that. Your doctor is best qualified to know what is best for you, and not an internet forum.

You should find the reason you're depressed(thinking, meditating) and then you should try to solve the problem (or find a way to avoid it). There is always some cause for depression, if you know it you'll be one step closer to the state you want to be.

Not necessarily. Sometimes depression just hits.

haha! I have pin-pointed the issue. Lemme guess, E? Possibly even coke, though that is less likely.

I quit doing E after trying it just twice. For the record that is one HELL of a drug. However, 40% of ppl (I looked into it) suffer an INCREDIBLE depression toward the tail end of the night. It was so bad I decided to plain old NEVER do it again.

I'm talking like sitting in my bed at 8 fucking am wondering where it had all gone wrong.
Why do all my friends pretend to like me when the so obviously don't?
How come no girls will look at me? (least not the girls I want)
What the fuck am I really doing with my life?
If I died, it;'s not that no one would care, it's more, would anyone notice?

Finally you fall asleep. When you wake up you realize that all that crap was just bullshit. You're friends DO like you. You get laid all the time. You're in college so you ARE doing something with your life even if you are not sure what it is. OF course ppl would care, I mean, I'm fricken awesome.

If this sounds like you (btw, this DOES happen when coming down off coke, just more mild) the solution is easy my friend, stick to booze, QUIT the drugs for a while. See what happens.

PM me if you want to talk more. Trust me dude, I was you. Now I'm 29, have a good job, 2 degrees and get laid basically (knock on wood) whenever I want. Oh, and I still enjoy a little of the white once every few months. Just remember, this bullshit happens to everyone and you'll make it, just like I did.

P.s. I'm also ridiculously good looking, so that helped.

EDIT: I just want to re iterate that giving something like depression the validation of a label like 'desease', 'illness' or even 'problem' will only make it seem more inavoidable in your eyes. Depression can be shook easily - just gotta get out of bad cycles.

Also, don't be afraid to ignore it. People say you shouldn't let things build up, but there's also the fact that if you stop giving things importance, then eventually you can see for yourself that they're [duh] not important :p
