It was costing the company way too much money to keep going with the sale of individual componants. Yes people may have been annoyed, i know i was, but it was in the best interest of the company so i accept it.The Maddest March Hare said:Yeah, as has already been said, Space Marines are really simple for a quick slap of paint and a battle, but they do have enough detail available to paint that you could go to town with detail if you wanted to. They're a nice, diverse army to paint.
Also, if anyone here has been around the GW news for the past year or so, could they possibly tell me why the hell they decided to drop all the old classic ranges and the ability to order separate sprues and models out of box sets? I came back to Warhammer a month or so ago now that my exams are over, and find incredibly limited bitz sections and a considerable lack of classic models, meaning my scope for conversions has been blitzed =(
As to the OP, i would suggest Daemonhunters. You get a fairly decent variety of units that if you wish, d not take anytime to aoaint at all. You can have large numbers of stormtroopers or small numbers of grey knights, and if you wish you can incorporate other units from the forces of the imperium. They can be one of the more exensice armies though moneywise. And the codex could do with an update.
Of course, you could always wait until december for the new space wolves?
