Skin tone is not race, soooo, I'd say you're safe. :)

I like whomever I'm with to have a little tan to their skin. I looooove a good gold tone. Mm!

I prefure a really pale white skinned person. I just don't find darker skin tones as attractive as lighter skin tones but thats on a sexual level. When it comes to freinds i don't care what colour you are.

Heh. I don't think it's racist, but I do think the way you worded it SOUNDS a bit racist.

Personally, I like my men like I like my coffee: warm, tall, sweet, and pale. Don't know why, don't care. The warm-ish lighter skin tones just attract me.

You know I don't have a preferred skin colour .... or type of women to be fair.

I've dated just about every colour and creed at some point in my life.

I will say I dislike those lasses that have so much fake tan they look orange though. David Dickinsons love children I call them.

For those who have no idea who David Dickinson is he's a British antique specialist on several TV shows with a really bad orange fake tan.

Having a skin preference is technically discrimination, but no more so than "I prefer blondes/redheads/burnettes".

As for me, I honestly don't care. Variety is the spice of life, so I can see attractive qualities in just about any skin tone, hair style etc.

I actually had an argumemnt with my flat mate about this where she said she didn't find black men attractive and I was like 'giiiirl you just havn't found the right one...<3'

I don't think it is right to limate you self and and claim there is no way you you could be attracted to X race. Being half black half white in a 95% white country being unattrative because i wasn't white was somthing I very was self conscious of :(

Having prefences is normal we all have them (and mine is called Hikaru Yaotome...<3) but i think personally we shouldn't be so single minded on getting someone just like the perfect guy in our imagenations because then we might miss the hot black/white/asian/latino nerd/jock/musicion/artist standing right in front of us.

I mean if my mum had stuck to her prefrences I wouldn't exsist.

I don't have a preference. I'm attracted to people of all races, it changes from person to person.

I've only ever been with white people but that's because in Ireland the population is still largely Caucasian.

Hello, your friendly Sister of Battle here, this time with a bit of a touchy subject. I've asked about just about every aspect of a person and what my fellows find attractive, save one. So today I risk insult, flaming and possible warning to ask: What is your prefered skin tone, in both yourself and your potential lover?

Now I am not trying to ignite racial bigotry or start discussions about which race is the hottest, simply if my fellow Escapees prefer one SKIN TONE over the other. And no, I won't be making a poll, there are far to many tones to accurately gauge ones preference. So I simply as y'all to give a specific example/picture/link to picture/discription/ect. and an explanation as to why.

I will take a rather dangerous leap and state my preference. I prefer white men and women. And no not "average Caucasian" no, I mean white, Gothic white, never seen the freakin' sun white, Christina Hendrecks looks tanned white. I'm not sure why, to me it is an unconscious symbol of purity and depth. It also really goes excellent with red hair, dark hair and green eyes.
Well if we all didn't have a certain amount of racism races would not even exists!

If all of us truly married and had kids irrelevant of skin colour then all racial distinctions would be mixed through gene mixing.

But there is a HUGE DIFFERENCE between:
-not wanting to marry someone to have kids with them, and
-thinking they are less than human who should be scorned by society.

THAT is the problem with racism, how it segregates society, denigrates millions and leads to such strife and conflict. No one has any right to treat other members of their society in such a brutal way, just because of their skin colour. Regardless of personal bias you must strive to accept, tolerate and accommodate other races and cultures.

But that DOES NOT translate to a marriage obligation.

[HEADING=2]People should have the right to marry and procreate with whichever consenting adult they like.[/HEADING]

(within reason of course, Incest and bigamy are not sustainable)

And that extends to feeling no obligation to include any race, creed, class, stature. It is 100% an individual choice.

The only obligation you have when it comes to marriage is for example if your (white) relative wants to marry a man where he happens to be black then regardless of your own preferences or expectations you should not stand in the way of HER CHOICE!

This isn't racist so long as you don't find your preference superior to all others in an objective sense. As for me, I don't really have a preference in color. Not trying to sound like I am completely unbiased in every way possible I just think that if someone is attractive, they will still be attractive no matter what color I change them to on the little hue slider on Photoshop.

I have to agree, really pale skin tends to be very soft, imaculate even, if you find a really pale redhead the chances are her skin will be incredible. For me, there's nothing more attractive than nice skin, and sorry to say - most black girls don't have good skin. It's not a racism thing, it's honesty to say that thick black hair doesn't float your goat.

I'm gonna put this out there as well, and most people would label this as racist...

Black people are more likely to suffer BO. It's genetics or something, not saying that black people shower less or anything like that - but most of the black people I know have BO, noticable BO, and it fkn horrible. Sorry if that's offensive, I'm just going by my experience, I'm sure theres some sort of body chemistry, testosterone, whatever scientific explanation.

I don't think you're racist. Well, the "white skin seems more pure" bit might be construed as such I suppose, but I still don't think you're being racist.

Although I do like the aesthetics of a guy with pale skin, black hair and green/pale blue eyes, I'm really an all you can eat kinda gal when it comes to skin tone. I've been attracted to Caucasians, Blacks (American and African varieties), Native Americans, Hispanics, Arabs, Indians, Far East Asians (Chinese, Korean, Japanese), et cetera.

The majority of the time I'll be attracted to someone of Hispanic or Arabic origin, mostly because I have a thing for big noses and tan skin. Heck, my two first real crushes were a Columbian and a Palestinian. (No Amer, if you frequent this site, I'm not talking about you.)

I guess I'm a girl who likes the whole "tall, dark, and handsome" thing =P (Although, Peter Dinklage... YUM)

Skin tone? Don't have a favorite one. However I very rarely find african people attractive, and on the flipside I find asian women attractive pretty much by default. So I suppose I like yellow and dislike black?

I'm black and I am primarily attracted to white women but will date anything BUT black women due to too many bad past experiences.

How is this a touchy subject? This isn't racism. It's simply preferences. Calling this racism is like saying that talking about height is discriminating to short people! Preferences can not be called racist because they are innate. We often have no control over what we prefer in potential partners, but rather just wake up one day thinking for example: "blonde is better than black hair". Does that make sense to you?

Personally I am partial to Caucasian and tan. I like some black, but like with everything else it comes down to a lot more than just simply skin colour.

I can't see why this is racist.

Personally I don't care, as long as the personality matches, the body works and the face looks pretty, to put things very bluntly.

I think this was said but anything but orange, too much tan is just bleh :p
That said tan-ish blondes are nice but that's pretty opinionated like everyone else's preferences

I'm glad to see that the mojority aren't accusing this guy of racism, because simply put it's not. I see no htin' and discriminatin' in this thread.

Although I've never been attracted to a black women in my life, I've only met a few just because of where I live (unfortunatly the majority of woman are all orange with really horrible bleached hair and whenever I cross a group of them I feel the need to man the harpoons) however, as far as I am concerned its only women with tanned skin (and by that I mean they have been on a sunbed or they smother themselves in fake tan) that I don't find attractive. I it's a natural tan then sure I can dig, but I honestly don't understand all these fake women because it really isn't attractive.

I will say this though, I love pale skin, I don't know why but I just find it really hot, especially when they have darker hair as well. My girlriend at the moment is actually very pale and her hair is freakin' purple! In this case, I have never been more attracted to anyone in my life, so yeah I think I do prefer pale skin, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't find people with a different skin colour any less attractive (unless its a lie >.>).

I can't call you racist by this quote, just unaware of where you came by that idea. White meaning purity/innocence is due mostly to its historical symbolism from England. In most cultures with lots of pigments (and China), white is usually equated to illness and death, since you get pale when sick. One of the darker countries that sees paleness as beauty is India (Who had been occupied by the British for quite some time, so they had lots of time to be indoctrinated).

Now I'm black and have a thing for redheads, but that may be due to my neighborhood and being a nerd ( going through high school around hot goth girls helped). That said, I try (key word) not to discriminate in my love life, despite my preference. I can't say I've been attracted to many black women, mostly because I don't like most of their attitudes in my area, but I have had crushes on lots of girls much darker than me. It all comes down to the person's attitude imo.

All I can say is, have your preference and have it without shame, just don't turn down someone for how easily you can tell when they tan/burn (assuming you like everything else about them, that is). You'll only be doing yourself a disservice in the end, as there are very few things in your love life you can knock without trying (dating on meth is something you can knock, though).
