(Darnit, I just typed a long message, but I got an error and it said the thread didn't exist.)

So I obviously need to eat healthy, rather than eating tons of junk food. But where do I go from there? Also, are Fiber One bars good or bad for what I'm trying to achieve?

Eat foods that contain good fats like Nuts, avacado, salads with olive oil (i think that's the one). It might also help to take protein supplements to help with muscle development, with exercise you will put on weight while maintaining a toned physique. Good fats help contribute to healthy weight gain and also help slow down your metabolism whereas junk food fats will only store themselves on your body. Talk to a nutrionist or start doing personal training. I find out most of this stuff from my personal trainer.

Ok I thought I would post a serious reply this time.

We are all different. We have different body types. I am a skinny 17 year old. I am about 5 feet 6 inches and weigh around 128 pounds. That is how I am.

Some people are big people, I have a friend who weighs well over 200 pounds and we eat the same things.

See? Different body types and metabolism.

Most of the time it is just most healthy to stay your natural size. Trying to be to fat or to skinny that your body is used to can cause some crazy health problems. Weather you are a big person or a scrawny person it is most healthy for you to accept your natural size and maintain it. Trying to force your body to be something it naturally isn't is very bad for you.

Assuming you don't have some undiagnosed disease, my guess it's genetics. I myself used to have a slow metabolism and a ravenish appetite; I would eat even when not hungry. I never weighed less than 200lbs and weighed as much as 230lbs on a 5'11" frame. What I ate either always went on as fat or muscle depending on whether or not I hit the gym. I used to bench 320lbs. Even when I was a fatty I was very strong underneath.

Then I turned thirty and things changed. My appetite started to shrink. I have no desire to eat unless I am actually hungry. I sit at 180lbs now and rarely eat more than twice a day and easily exercise portion control.

What does this have to do with you, simple really. I have seen the same from the rail types that force themselves to eat and can't put on weight and turn thirty. They had the reverse happen. They turn 30 and bahm, they fatten up. They don't even change their diet. All of a sudden their bodies stop burning what they eat.

The short is you probably can't do anything about it. Not, being a doctor I would say: 1. Increase the amount of protien you eat; not crazy with supplements, but more natural foods containing high protien. 2. When you go to the gym use a routine that encourages drestroying the muscle you have to stimulate growth. 90% your max in free weights with low number count repetitions. To grow muscle you actually have to damage it to create a stimulus.

Just my opinion, see an actual doctor. Don't listen to the people at GNC or even me.

Unfortunately you're not going to be able to do much about that. If you eat 10000kj a day you'll gain weight but, just as people who starve to lose it, you'll reset to your normal when you stop.

Work out, fat-ass. You want to eat a lot of food? Justify it. If you do cardio, strength and all that in a day, and eat as much as you can, you'll get uber fit. Also, in terms fot the environment, being fat is VERY bad. Cattle emits 18% of all greenhouse gas emissions. ALL greenhouse gas emissions, coal, cars, natural gas, everything. Beef should be eaten as a treat because it's so bad, but food in general (and everything in the western world) has gone through way to much to be not bad for the environment. Chicken and fish is best for your body and the environment Eat vegetables, keep your carbohydrates down, and you'll eventually get big through working out. But, if you're skinny, it probably means you are more attractive, intelligent, and will live longer than those who aren't. Be proud of you're superiority, but don't flaunt it. Not flaunting you're superiority is a key part of being better than everyone else. Take it from me. And stop eating junk food. Seriously. Eat healthy and work out, and you'll get far more satisfaction in the long run than you will by eating junk food and trying to get fat. Also, the most important thing, you have to be patient when trying to change yourself. Think in terms of months, maybe weeks. Keep a steady habit. And again, trying to get fat, by eating junk food, is a terrible idea. Carbohydrates and salt (sodium) to to mention fat make it harder for you to concentrate, wear down just about everything in you, and, just don't do it. Even if you don't want to work out (or not a lot) DO NOT try to get fat. Good lord, you're already awesome by being skinny like me, don't try to fit in with the minions by becoming a lesser being. Make them want to fit in with you. Christ, don't get fat! What a terrible idea! Do you want to get stupid, too?!
I don't want to get fat, in general. I just want to overall increase my weight up to 160-170, and increase my wasteline enough that my jeans will fit. (I never get tired of hearing how stupid it sounds when I type that.)

And for the record, are the people saying they are 6 foot 120-130 pounds men or women? I couldn't imagine being 6-foot 125 pounds as a man. If I dropped twenty pounds, I'd be dead.
If you want your pants to fit, get a belt. I'm guessing you want to be able to genuinely fit into your pants but trust me, it's a bad idea to try to fit yourself around something else. I know this may seem mundane, but the way you are naturally is probably the strongest way for you too be. Try to get too big, too fast, you may regret it later. As you get older, your wasteline will expand. But trying to shove food down your throat to fit into pants that are too big is a bad idea. You were probably planning to make some big deal out of this, and make it your goal to fit into those jeans, but that's a bad goal. Put your energy somewhere else. Don't put a lot of energy into some silly little passing desire. You should seriously just get a belt. Problem solved. If you do that you can spend time trying to solve other, more important problems that will do much better things than hastily expand your wasteline.

Okay, you must not have read the original post, where I said I did wear a belt. And I only want to increase my wasteline slightly. I tried a pair of jeans that was one inch lower than the two pairs I just bought, and while it fit good around the wasteline, they were too tight in other areas. So I only need 1/2-1 inches to fit into my new jeans, or 2 1/2-3 to fit into my other jeans. That's not that much.

You American? are you sure? this is shocking! Call the press!.

Stop eating shit, eat healthy, You want to bulk up? Have eggs, meat, make your own drinks from Other vegitables or fruit, it works both ways you know, Try exercising plenty.

Yes it seems like it should be counter productive but its not.
It's not hat I want to bulk up. I'm not looking to get stronger, just to increase my overall weight and wasteline. And how would excercising help gain weight?
muscle weighs more than fat, and it's just better to be stronger.

I apologize if someone has already mentioned it... but see a doctor if you lost weight quickly. My good friend found he had cancer at the age of 24 not too long after dropping a lot of weight unknowingly.

God, I hate people like you =P
Have some of my fat if you want, I have plenty to share.
But eating crap is not the right way to gain weight. Exercising does actually help, especially muscle building.
