You did disagree with him, but that isn't a bad thing. Disagreeing isn't bad, it's when there is a contrast of opinions. What you did was "Must resist urge to flame" which is rude, and much different than disagreeing. Disagreeing is "Hmm, I don't really like A7x, the lead singer get's on my nerves and they have too many breakdowns, but I can sort of see why you'd like them". Flaming is "Fuck A7x and anyone who likes them!". You implied, irritatingly, that you wanted to flame him, and then got defensive.
