Cause of the always on-line requirements.

I always liked Diablo series, but was never a huge fan. I played the first one, and played the second one quiet a bit, so i was looking forward to Diablo 3.

I have a good computer, stable and fast internet connection, and had all the intention of buying the game (instead of getting a hacked copy, which i can oh so easily do), but i wont.

Whos with me? :)

P.S. this isnt about the latest Jimquisition episode. I decided not to buy Diablo 3 a long time ago, Jim just reminded me :)

I agree, I am not getting Diablo III after I heard about the on line only. Just because if I dont have internet I should still be able to enjoy the game. Main reason I don't play MMO's

If it's good I'll get it, if it isn't I won't. These are my rules, they've served me well.

I've personally never understood the absolute mayhem this DRM or whatever is causing.

Sure, it'll suck if your internet is down for a day, but once it's back up you're good to go. Might be my general attitude of indifference, but I don't have any sort of problem with always online requirements.

I'm not getting it either but that's more due to the fact that I'm primarily a console player...and also, my interest has shifted to the games released in the 90's and aughts. I liked Diablo but I never cared enough to play the second one.

I think there is a difference. MMOs by nature have to sacrifice their gameplay for the social aspect to be a part of the experience. Diablo can be played perfectly fine on its own.

I seriously can't imagine playing WoW single player though... it just seems so god-awful.

Although I do find the online-only a necessary (because of the RMAH) but bad thing, I'm definately playing the game still. The beta footage I've been seeing doesn't seem to promising though...

Im not getting it because I live in a region of the united states that goes to shit because of a cat 1 hurricane in which I don't have power or internet for a week.

I wasn't going to get it until I found out I don't actually have to do much to get decent items.

I can just sit in the AH and buy my way to glory with my credit card and laugh at poor people.

Pay to win games are fun.

I'm not going to buy Diablo 3 either. Mainly because I don't really enjoy the Diablo series.
To each their own, this isn't a very good thread...

A few weeks ago my Bnet account was locked because apparently someone hacked it. I haven't touched it in months. I got it resolved but my product keys for my Blizzard games were attached to that account. Not much, just Starcraft Battle Chest and WOW but it made me stop and think that Blizzard isn't really all that secure if my account can be hacked in my absence (how would I prevent that) and I would lose access to my games that require online access.

I will not ever buy Starcraft 2 or Diablo III because when I put them down for a few months, I may lose them forever due to someone hacking my account. That's $120 down the drain. I won't risk it.

Niether am I! Someone congratulate me, now!

Although, to be honest I never really planned to. The DRM thing just took me from "meh, maybe" to "hell no".

This basically shows how much NOT of a fan you are, how quickly you would discard the quality of the game and hours of good entertainment. Because of a simple 'difficulty' which you would rather boycot like a little whiner than ignore and actually try it.

Nobody cares if you don't buy the game, there are 11 million people out there who will.

Guess who will bite their lip in jelousy if they see someone play it.

You.

Good for you for staking a stand.
I just don't care about the online whatever.
I played 1 & 2 offline.
3, I'm immediately gonna co-op it with 4-6 people (if it allows it)

Good for you! Use your money to say what you will.

Though, unless a couple million people do the same, I'm fairly certain Blizzard is going to see huge sales on this. Once we get a release date, you're going to start seeing commercials on TV and the like. I know I'm getting it.

Still, an offline mode WOULD be nice.

Oh wow!

First of all, if someone is NOT a fan then they won't be jealous of someone else playing it will they? Secondly, it takes more courage to stand up for consumer rights and not encourage this kind of DRM than it does to go with the flow and call others "whiners". Third, you sound desperate to play this game no matter how many flaming hoops you have to jump through. If it were drugs or alcohol they would call it a controlling addiction. Just some things to consider.

More power to you, have fun not playing Diablo.

I on the other hand already have about four Wizard builds theory crafted and am just itching to test my "TimeSlowing-Illusionist-Melee-LifeLeech-Tank" or my "Infinite-ArcanePower-TripleDisintegrate" build.

I think my second character will be a DemonHunter and I'll probably go for a volley with Discipline regeneration then focus on high mobility impales, maybe I'll rune my Sentry to shooting homing missiles and then change my companion into a wolf.
