The world is not messed up. I wish that I could have said that to my Bro before his suicide. This world is awesome. I am on the downside of things, age 52 (soon), and just having an instrument of cosmic whinery such as this is just one of the facets of awesome.
Meoples get depressed, it is just part of the gig.
Do not let it be a downer for you.
Im very sorry to hear that, Yes somtimes people do have the excuse to be down and whatnot because they've been dealt an unfair hand, the bad ones are the ones who use there free time to complain about how things that dont effect them stink and what not

I'm thinking...yes, yes it did.

I find it helps to just ignore the fskheads, personally. Keeps me in good spirits (usually).

People deal with stress and blow off steam in different ways. And sometimes, when the way they normally deal with it isn't working, they try something different. One of the many ways people deal with stress is to complain about things that are bothering them with people they consider friends or feel a connection with. Many people find places like the Escapist, filled with similarly minded individuals, and find it comforting to go there and release some of the pent up issues they have. In this way, they are doing something to help themselves deal with what they feel is an overload of negativity in their life. Ideally, others who find themselves in a similar state of mind can then go to these threads and relieve themselves of their pent up stress as well. In this way, though it may not seem so to someone from the outside, they are actually doing something to help themselves and others. It usually does not help with the source of the problem (although groups actually dedicated to the problem, such as AA, can help fight the source), but it does help the people to express their dissatisfaction, deal with their issues, and perhaps move past them. While it may just seem overly pessimistic to someone who does not share the viewpoint, these things can often be a great help in allowing someone to regain their sense of proportion, and perhaps become more optimistic about their life as a result.

The World is awesome, atleast for me.
As a Norwegian student i have stability and fun in my life.
Clean water and sufficient economy, i am aware that many people around the world don't enjoy the same luxuries.

Thats why i often sit back and appreciate the things i own and the life i live.

Yes there are bad things in our world, but it'd not OK to call it sucky.
Fact is everyone is in shock these days, with the advent of unfiltered social internet and communication disasters are getting closer and we suddenly know about small time stuff happening in countries we didn't even remember existing.

Its not all bad, just look at Egypt.
Sure some people died, but they died for a better Egypt.
And they won.

I enjoy my cynicism thank you very much. It allows me to be even happier when something good happens.

I will agree however that people do tend to do a little more whining and bitching than I would like. It's all good and well to point out that things suck in most places, but unless the person making these observationss plans to do something(or at least convince others to act), I'd rather they just not say anything, or at least phrase what they are saying in a less whiney way.

I like to believe my acts of community service give me the privelege to yell at other people who are pessimisstic, yet apathetic. Though that just could be me being a holier-than-thou, pretentious, twat.

People tend to ignore the good for the bad, and I do also get kind of tired of the "lost my faith in humanity" comments and threads, but it's pretty naive to think there are only "a few fucktards" in the world. If there were only a few bad people, then even the pessimists wouldn't be able to find much to complain about.
I mention a few because there the only ones who are actually complain worthy. Like the tyranicial rulers of the world, Figurativly and literally. but the petty bull on fox and fox itself is not complain worthy....just a bunch of idiots lol, Also

Nope, it's a pretty terrible place, but people still shouldn't bother with all that. There's at least enough not-shit to go around.
And even if it were all shit, it would be btr to go out and help fix what you dont approve of than to sit and complain about how the world isnt fair
I think we should all sit and whine about people whining -.-

No lol, people love trying to find irony in stuff :D

You're right people complain about how bad life is and we have no appreciation for how good things are. OP doesn't need to have a great life, they just have their eyes open.

How can you make a thread saying the world is a great place just look around?

Is a great place for all the people that are hauntet and killed, and what about the people living in third world country and are so poor that we in a "normal" country make more money going to the toilet scraching our asses.

Yes offcourse somewhere the world is jolly and happy like a rainbow but all in all there is more bad then happy in the world and thats just how it is.

The reason i belive that the world is so crap is humans, we are one of the most selfdestructive race in the world.

But i cant complain much personaly i am happy with what i got and how my life is, offcourse it could be better but it can allways be better in one way or another. but in reality the world is not a jolly jolly place for most people.

Just to give 1 fucked up exemple when it comes to money and stress, was watching a program of a guy teaching people how to safe better how to make sure your personal finance was fixed, he said in america 7/10 house is house owned by people that are in dept... sounds "fair" to me.

Atleast considering that: Top 10% of the world owe 50% of the world income.

The world hasn't ever really been much better. War and racism (and I should probably include teenage angst for some the "everything sucks" crowd) and other depressing things aren't a recent development.

The world sucks pretty bad and I'm perfectly happy with it.
