That's kind of a kick in the face to any flat-chested women who might have been interested in making a character that looked like themselves. Or just to anyone that didn't want to make a character that ascribed to that particular concept of beauty.

I'm curious how far down the height slider goes if you could actually make a flat chested person look like a child - and in that case, what's stopping people from making little boy characters? Is it required for male characters to have facial hair to prove they've gone through puberty?

i agree with you 100% on this.
i can still understand the company wanting to cover their ass though. I just wish they wouldn't
I agree with you too.

Can we please not have a bunch of Lolicon fanboisie showing up to defend pedophilia and "virtual" child porn, thank you. This [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/528.236067-Pedophiles?page=3] was the conclusion of the last "big thread" about that:

This thread has been locked. Pedophilia is seen as a mental illness and being a pedophile is against federal law in the United States if acted upon. Much like other discussions of illegal acts such as piracy or illegal drug use, if anyone chooses to further discuss pedophilia, they will be suspended. There are others sites on the internet to discuss this topic.
Hey man, I'm not into lolicon, just an advocate of clarity of communication. And on that note perhaps you misread that post by Spinwhiz. It says it's a crime if acted upon. But, shall we drop this to prevent suspensions? Would love to chat more, but I don't really want to be suspended again.

Wow that's pretty stupid. I like smaller boobs. Oh, and it is kind of mean, too. So it's like they have to choose between sexism and pedophilia. Huh.

Here's an idea: why don't you, I dunno, look for people making little-girl characters, and, like, stop them? :\

As long as the woman is undeniably the height of an adult, I don't see the issue. Men aren't required to have beards or huge crtch bulges are they?

Just make the minimum height 5'7"-ish. They should at the very least allow you to go down to a B-cup. I mean, the vast majority of women IRL aren't a C or bigger.
Then they would argue that they look like giant children and that we're all peadophiles with giant fetishes.

The agony!

so according to this game, all woman have enormous breasts?
my god, the porn industry was right! JK
but honestly that is kinda annoying to any woman who has small breasts. it's like saying
"you're not a real woman unless your're breasts are bigger than grape fruit." lame.

Then try some clarity of reading. SpinWhiz's post could not be plainer in its meaning and you know it perfectly well.
Sorry, I seem to be misunderstanding you here, were you originally debating my sentiment? Or were you asking me not to discuss this on the forums. Because frankly, I'm confused now.

i just asked and he THINKS
for human males: 5'6"
for human females: 5'4

but you can make alien races that are shorter.

Pfft, it's not child porn if it just slightly resembles something that could imply children in suggestive circumstances. Cryptic isn't Australian.

It's a similar excuse as to why there's no child template in Champions Online. They're either overly concerned about this, or it's just an excuse. Most likely excuse since they've been called on including the stuff they claim is excluded for legal reasons before.

The Escapist has obviously asked people not to discuss this on the forums. What the hell is there to be confused about? Just stop.
I just misunderstood your first post here. Well thanks for clearing that up regardless.

Really? I was under the impression that cartoon depictions of minors fell under the same legal restrictions as live shots.

OT: While I disagree with the ban, I can't really see it as a major issue. I mean, does it seriously affect how you play the game?

Two things:

1. Depends on the laws of the country.
2. Read the discussion I have already had on this thread. Thanks.

Aside from the overlooked fact that some girls develop early, I'm more or less on Cryptic's side here.

The trouble is the players and the media. The players are going to do whatever they damn well want in the game, banning them for it will often do little rectify it happened, and that's the reality MMORPG developers face.

So basically what happens is this:
  • * Random_Internet_Denizen_45493914 and his girlfriend Random_Internet_Denizen_94384183 decide to have lewd TinySex in Star Trek Online. Random_internet_Denizen_94384183's avatar looks definitively childlike.
    * Somehow, it gets recorded and publicized across the Intertubes.
    * Fox News catches wind of it and runs a news story proclaiming, "Cryptic Studio's Star Trek Online promotes child pornography."
    * The feds visit Cryptic Studios and start asking them some uncomfortable questions.
That said, will restriction on the boob slider really solve that? Probably not. It just gives Cryptic something they can bring up in self-defense: "hey, we tried to make it so the ladies were all developed by restricting the boob slider!"

no, but their is a "slave girl" costume. Not being a fan or Star Trek, i'm really not sure what that means, but yeah.
Oh dear. I see the developer's problem. Here, just type "Slave Leia" into Google image search and count how many potential lawsuits you'd get. I can't imagine Star Trek has anything less, since it did produce Captain Kirk.
