How do you think you would do if you were an Imperial Guardsmen in the Warhammer 40k universe?

Me personally I believe I would be shot dead by my Commissar on the very first day after fleeing from the enemy after realising the lasgun is a piece of crap.

So how would you all do if you were an Imperial Guardsmen?

EDIT: I did not know that the lore says that this is impossible. My bad! Well, in that case screw those guys, they're the hardest race to play...

I'd rather go with Vrex and be one of the Tau. They rock so hard...

For me it would be either the Tau or the Tyranids just because I like aliens and hate humans.
Most likely Tau specifically because I love Kroot.

Yeah, I'd probably try to get reassigned to the tank division as soon as possible. Not that the chances are better or anything, its just I'd rather be blown up in a tank than suffer the many other myriad really nasty and unpleasant deaths awaiting the unarmoured guardsman.

Um, the question is "How would you do if you was a guardsman", not "Tell us who you would be".

I'd try to get into a heavy weapon squad as soon as possible. Yeah, you run off and die, I'll be back here over-compensating.

No you cant... Guardsmen average survival rate is 2% per battle.... I would try to be heroic but in doing so shooting my commissar in the face. Then i flee

Yeah, that survival rate is a good reason to try to get onto a feral planet. you'll be safer with the fauna and flora there than in a battle wearing cradboard and trying to shoot your enemies with a laserpointer.

wow. I would be tanith and fight along with gaunts ghosts. Hell, he's a fair commissar too. HE wouldn't shoot you in the back like some others. Either them or the 597th. Ciaphs cain is beast, but not as much as gaunt. His group haxs the highest survival rate thus far.
