I would aim for the eyes, always the eyes. Its not like a highpowered torch is gonna hurt anyone, but it can blind them long enough for me to get teh fuck out of there.

With any luck I'd be posted as heavy weapon trooper or sniper, thus getting to sit further away and have half a chance to kill something. Oh and pray not to be given any plasma weaponry, then I'm just asking for death.

Regiment wise, I'd prefer to be in the Praetorian Guard, they just have such nice uniforms, fight in a gentlemanly manner. You know, with the red uniform, old bugeyed can't see when you bleed, what what, cucumber sandwiches, etc.

Most likely? Shoot a few dudes then get shot and bleed to death. It's a grunts life, for every hero and survivor theres thousands/millions who died. If I did survive a while, I'd be extremely devout. I'd pray a lot, engage in a lot of the "Burn the heretic" type thinking, and maybe if I'm lucky get assigned to an easy post. In a battle though I don't think I'd ever run away from the enemy, barring Chaos demon or something, I'd be terrified, but I'd rather die after killing a few enemies than get shot in the back. Looking at tactics, I'd stay low, move fast and stay quiet, might even survive for a month or two.

True.....and one of those pics is a Choas Mars pattern titan, and the other is someones home made titan, BUUUT thats not the point, whos to say i cant join the IG and instantly get promoted to titan division as a support troop only to worm my way in to the cockpit of a titan?? of course, id have to get past all those trigger happy commisars

The Titan Legions use Skittari as support troops
I don't think they'd accept a normal human as help unless it was cain himself

The Imperial Navy and IG are two seperate outfits.. they hate each other and very rarely get along.
In some cases they 'Accidentally' Drop a Lance Strike or Fusion Torpedo on an IG position. (But normally only if they have a fued or an excuse.)

Yeah, I'd probably try to get reassigned to the tank division as soon as possible. Not that the chances are better or anything, its just I'd rather be blown up in a tank than suffer the many other myriad really nasty and unpleasant deaths awaiting the unarmoured guardsman.

Actually, your almost guaranteed to burn alive in a tank.

I'd pray to god I'm in one of the defensive, unattacked bases.

Ehh, actually that's not the worst thing that could happen to you. I mean, I really, really, wouldn't want to be captured alive. I mean, best case scenario, you're fighting Eldar and they imprison you or give you a quick death. It gets gradually worse, Orcs would torture you for a bit before getting bored and killing you. Dark Eldar you'd probably end up as a slave -- pretty horrible. Tyranids, Chaos... burning to death in a tank is probably pretty kind compared to what those guys would do to you. I mean, in a tank, you might get to blow something up before getting fried by the retaliatory fire, and then its bang boom straight up to the Emperor amiright?

Although in retrospect, seeing as the tank division probably gets a lot of turnover seeing as its mobile armour, a defensive outpost on some backwater planet is probably the best option. Although isn't that where most of these invasions start?

Me? I'd shoot my commander mid battle and leg it back to the ships we'd land in, claiming to be wounded and helpless. They take me to the medical bay, the ship retreats after a wasteful loss. Repeat every battle until I get too old and can retire. Wait, can they retire?

thats your best chance.. then just take a chimera under the guise of a crack commando unit and drive the other way when no one is looking... slip into a hive and disappear...

Most likely Tau specifically because I love Kroot.
