The Horde on our server tend to have Velen/Tyrande/Magni down, but for whatever reason just get crushed whenever they try to take Stormwind. I guess Alliance just likes King Wrynn more than the others.

Similarly, I've taken out Lor'themar, Cairne Bloodhoof and Sylvanas, but when our raid went for Thrall... let's just say we met heavy opposition in Orgrimmar?

I've never seen a full 40-man raid group wiped out so quickly.

There are many achievements that are extremely hard to get or demand an extraordinary dedication of time and ability.

Many come to mind in both cases, usually the "Completionist" achievements (like GTA4's for example) and GOW2's "Party like it's 1999" resemble almost job-like-dedication chores and others like Geometry Wars 2's Smile, King or Wax Off seem almost impossible to me.

What impresses me though, is not getting achievement points for extremely hard ones. As long as you get an amount of points that seem worth your effort or had fun doing so, it's fine. What I despise the most are cheap games, like Lost Planet: Colonies. I finished the game's 11 missions in medium mode. It wasn't extremely hard, but no walk in the part and at the end I got 10 points. 5 for completing in "easy" mode and 5 for "medium".

Now that's cheap.

Half lfie episode 2 also had the garden gmone acheivment, where you had to carry him across the entire game. Since there was no where to put him in the car - i dont know how you can do it.

We should change it to most time consuming as well. Because I can count a lot more too. I'm all for replayability, but when you have me play through a game 4 times to get an achievement each run, no thanks. Dead Rising is notorious for this. You have to dedicate essentially one whole run to the Zombie Genocide achievement.(I got it, but damn did that take a while) Then save at least 50 people? You have no time to do any other achievements except maybe take a picture of the psychos or something. Then actually getting the good ending...And beating the final boss without dying! *Sigh* too much time to be spent for another 400 gamerpoints Dead Rising...too much time...

I think that the "Cr0wned" achievement in Left 4 Dead is pretty impossible. Also, I can't get the "Barf Bagged" achievement in Left 4 Dead either. I know it's not that difficult, but I can't seem to get all four survivors close enough together to barf on all of them :S
Cr0wned is surprisingly easy. The time I got it was hilarious. I just non-chalantly walked up to a witch beside the crane on Dead Air, the just blew her face off. Good times.

Insane Achievements? The one in CoD2 for finishing the game on veteran. I'm so close, but Hill 400 has me up against a brick wall.

Yeah the horde defend Thrall like crazy actually If you've played SoTA yet( the new battle ground) the horde generally does shit right up until the door to the portal and we just hold the alliance there for the rest of the time (when we are on defence I mean) maybe it's the whole underdog thing.

Nah, Alliance does that too. It's a lot easier to defend that single chokepoint than to split forces between the two gates, I think. I got the courtyard defense achievements pretty quickly :p

Especially with cross-server PvP, I don't think either faction has really an "underdog" claim. Horde outnumbers Alliance 2-to-1 on one of my old servers, for instance.

I usually play on expert difficulty, which would explain why it's been so difficult for me. Even still, I decided to play on easy in order to get the achievement, and I shot the witch in the face 3 or 4 times with the auto shotty before she died.

Not sure if you're a big follower of lore but what I mean't by the underdog thing is the whole Orcs being enslaved by humans, Undead and Blood Elves being cast out by humans actually you know what, humans in Warcraft are dicks!

Anyhow a bit more on topic I'm pretty sure the Explorer achievement in WoW has to be a royal pain in the ass too.

Explorer isn't that bad ;)

Some of those Heroic ones are pretty rough, though. Notably Chaos Theory, Watch Him Die, Share the Love, and all three of the (Blank) Void ones. Well, maybe not Amber Void.

For me, the hardest is the 'Mile High Club' on CoD:4. Can't do it. Tried so many times. I give up.
Let your team dispatch of most of the enemies and you just run and gun while throwing stuns.

Sneak up behind the witch, when you get close enough and she is alerted to your presence, put a shell right at the base of her hair as she stands up to attack you. It may take a couple of tries, but it should work out.

Barf Bagged is mostly luck, unless you want to have your friends set it up for you (dunno if you're into that or not).

An personally, I think Mile High Club is an extremely difficult achievement. I got it, which makes me happy, but it took me close to thirty-five tries. I like the level though; it really tests your skills, but it's also an exercise of luck.
