Oh Yeah

I sometimes refine them on other playthroughs but they look like the first one mostly. After a few goes I have "The Character" for that game.

My Rock Band character has been the same through all 3 games - it always feels weird playing quickplay and having the wrong person pop up in my place.

And as mentioned to death above, Saints Row and Mass Effect. My ME characters always look the same. As for Saints Row, my previous xbox RRoD'ed, and now I'm replaying with a character based on my original, because I really liked her.

Did you ever find yourself growing attached to one of the builds you made, so much so that you consider that one to be the "true" one?

Like for example, in Saints Row 2 I beat the game with a Bald, pale British guy with a purple fedora and matching zoot suit, and now it just kinda feels wrong to play it any other way.

Anyone else have this happen?
in saints row i found the game wanted me to play a black guy with all the talk of homies and cribs that when i tried to play as an englishman first i couldn't do it

Yes. I get extremely attached. I've only played Dunmer in Oblivion and since I started playing WoW I'm having trouble adjusting to anything other than a male Blood Elf...

So I'm not the only one...

And if you get bored or disturbed by the character being Wesker, you can dye his hair white and he becomes Spike from Buffy.

Roll playing, of any sort, I have one character that I keep slipping on like a nice new form that reflects me.

I played the second one with as a girl with purple cornrolls, Alice Cooper make-up, a purple cheerleading skirt, and electrical tape over her nipples. Seems weird to see people playing with different characters.

I was so bummed I couldn't play the same character in the first one. There I tried to make the guy's face look as much like a quarter-moon as possible, big nose, extremely pale, wearing a purple suit & fedora.

Customising characters at the beginning of a game - I spend more time on this than I do the game itself!

Disclaimer: Might be an exaggeration. But I do spend a lot of time making my character look perfect. I mean, if you make a bad-looking character, you have to put up with him/her for the rest of the game.

Totally, while I changed my clothes in GTA SA from time to time when I got bored, I always kept the cornrows, dollar chain, and the same kicks.

...please Escapist don't log me out when I hit post this time.

I absolutely love my game characters. I usually give them a personality. I've grown quite fond of my Fallout 3 character so I tried to recreate him in New Vegas but the customization is so big I only managed to create a character that is similar to him, not exactly the same. Though, I just roleplay his face changed 'cause he's been shot in the head.

I have a basis for how I like a character to look if I can customise and sometimes I do get attatched but I then play a female character which I'm for more open with (don't know why :S) also Mass Effect is one of the few games where I don't (I have only played the second one) but it didn't seem to matter what I did my character looked the same so I felt like I was barely doing anything to him.

The Mass Effect games. Every time I try to replay the games, I tend to make her look almost the same cause it seems weird to play as a completely different character.
Ha, yeah, same here. I'm getting the PS3 version and just recently jotted down my character's attribute codes or whatever they are, so I can take her, give her a different background, different skin tone (since my regular Shepard is pale from spending all her time in space ships all her life) and play an alternate life.

I'm weird.
