In one session, how long do you think you could game for?

Oh wait, a competition? Well, like the person earlier, if food/drink were provided and we could take bathroom breaks every 6-12 hours, I could probably end up going roughly 48 hours. The longest I usually will ever game is 12 hours, when I have a nice free day, and I've occasionally been struck with bouts of insomnia, so if it were one of those times I could easily get into a good game for a few days straight.

My record? Frack...I've probably clocked a good 15 hours all at once in WoW, but I haven't gamed like that in a long time. Like I said above, the max I typically go is 12 hours now, and usually I'll only game for up to 3-4 hours at a time. Sleep and relationships win out in the end if they're really pushy.

Longest so far: Mass Effect 2 at 23 hours or so. Followed, at a close second, by 19 straight of Final Fantasy Tactics. Other video games have topped at 5+. BUT all time game play was a game of RISK that lasted 39 hours and 43 minutes (straight time: food was delivered to us by the losers) - that was epic. So, I'd say, based on my ease of completion of current work hours of 12hr swing shifts and in a competitive environment, I could do 32+ on a video game and probably 48 on a board game (my eyes will only allow for so much screen time)

My record is 16-20(playin that long I lost sense of time) hrs straight. Can't say I want to do that again or any longer.

Didn't drink

Didn't eat

Didn't go to the bathroom

...and I can't remember the game...

Any time I get a new game that I really like and have looked forward too I sit down and play for days at a time non stop. Well I stop to pee and to run to the kitchen to get something to eat... so if someone brought me food and I was givin small bathroom breaks I could last for a very long time. If we are talking no breaks- then maybe like 10-12 hours.

I could probably do a whole 72 hours under certain conditions. It'd have to be an awesome LAN party, we'd have to be playing some awesome MMO or maybe Diablo 3, and there'd need to be some good food. But a once in a lifetime occasion of course.

.......Ok, once a year.

Well, I played through dragon age origins in one sitting....
I just beat that today :) Although definitely not in one sitting... Although I did play it for about ~11 hours yesterday.

My longest session is probably somewhere around 12-14 hours. I'm planning (once I get my PS2 back from my friend) to go on a Prince of Persia marathon and beat the trilogy in one sitting, which will take me about 21 hours based on the ~6-7 it took me to finish each game by itself.

In a proper competition, I could probably force myself to hit something close to 100 hours, maybe push that to 110-120 with the help of caffine. No way I'd come close to engoying it though, depending on the game I'd be bored out of my SKULL after 2-10 hours without a break.

...I can see someone doing ten or twelve, but twenty and forty hour sessions whose breaks only consists of taking a piss and maybe grabbing a few cookies and a soft drink? No, I cannot see myself doing that and do not understand how anyone possibly could.
The answer to your question is madness: pure, unadulterated space-madness. Also, you'd be surprised what the human body can do when properly motivated by competitive spirit, which again comes back to madness.

If I had a good game, O, 32 hours. I'd need sleep at some point, but I'd last at least a day. I'm not a very good sleeper.:/

It's around 72 hours before I start getting cranky/depressed and must sleep. If I have nice food or someone fun to talk to it is longer.

I played fallout vegas for like 3 days straight when it came out and my friends staged an intervention on skype. I got shouted at :< I'm notorious for getting too caught up in computer games among friends and family.

Came home with Battlefield 2. Played it for 25 hours straight. It was good.
I'm not even sure that I ate anything, but I expect pizza was involved.

(This was relatively soon after release, so that 'nade spamming, medic spamming, and knife-diving had not become common strategies)

If it were a competition of some sort?
Well, these days it would have to be a high adrenaline game thing, or very new and very engaging. I could probably get over 48 hours, so long as someone was bringing me food and caffein.

Hmm well...
When Red Dead Redemption came out I played it for 23 hours and then finished it 100%
When I bought Oblivion I played it for about 30 hours in the first sitting.
I once played Call Of Duty 4 for about 30 - 35 hours straight. Played campaign then sat on Multiplayer for almost a day. A friend was round though so we took breaks and swapped between consoles and Cod on pc.

I dont game for that long anymore because I am starting to get a bit older and I can't really stay up as much as I could when I was younger. However I have gotton back into surfing in Counter Strike Source and last night I put about 3 hours into it.

I had a lazy day in summer where I beat Crystalis in a single sitting. That's probably it for me and that was many years ago.
