Arc the Lad: End of Darkness.. hated it. Biggest waste of money ever. I've spent hundreds of dollars on games I've never played but this was still the biggest waste of money on my part.

Worst game EVER? Huh. Well, almost any porno game, since gameplay's an afterthought. So Custer's Revenge, then?

Borderlands. Ther is nothing good about this game, even the initially nice graphics look boring after about half an hour. CoD managed more than that. The combat is dull, hte interfaces are unintuitive, it has one gameplay element, the story is about as deep as a dustbin lid and even then, that has more uses. I could beat it by just shouting at it a lot because I have a lot of abuse for it to recieve. All round a terrible game and it made me the cynic that I am today.

Probably APB, aka. All Points Bulletin, aka. The Game that was supposed to be a GTA/Saint's Row MMORPG aka the game that made it's developers bankrupt almost instantly.

Got into the closed beta and never could bring myself to log in again after my first 3-ish hours play session.
Horribly laggy AND barely running on my computer despite me turning down just about every graphical option even though my computer should've had no problem. Other than that, it was enourmously boring, bland, and nothing worked quite right, from the controls to the balancing.

Also, The Undergarden. Dear God, there is something about this game that annoys the hell out of me. It's just an all around horrible experience, although i know most people think otherwise.

And then there is Driv3r. I looved the first one, i still found good things about the sub-par second one, but the third game was just painful

EDIT: Oh and Special Mention to Rainbow Six (as in the very first one) for PSone. People would argue it should've never been ported for the Playstation, and those people would be right. It just doesn't work.
I was in the APB closed beta, too.

I decided to try the newly-F2P beta for it. You know what was different?

Nothing. All the issues that were there in the beta from two years ago are still present. Shitty interface, levels of tedium in excess of watching paint dry, clunky gunplay, performance issues, shitty car control, ridiculously repetitive missions, lag, crashes, disconnects... Every issue I identified in the original closed beta is still present. There's a good reason APB failed miserably. I wouldn't say it was the worst game I've ever played, but it was up (down?) there.

I actually can't remember many of the genuinely terrible games I've played. I tend to forget them. Although it seems like a lot of people on here have never even come into contact with a properly horrible game. The most disappointing for me, however, was Dragon Age: Origins. Generic storyline, bad (for a BioWare game) voice acting, fairly constrictive in terms of characters you could reasonably play (a note to developers: if I'm playing a party-based RPG, adding in sections where I'm split off from my party is not what I want, especially if I'm trying to play a support role like a healer character), lazy graphics and textures and less of a difficulty "curve" than a "violent and illogical difficulty zig-zag."

Too Human. I like to have control over the camera position. To think I payed twenty bucks for the piece of shit. I will never trust my cousin's gaming advice ever again.

As of late, American McGee's Alice. Now, I won't condemn the game as a whole but the port for the 360? Horrible. The controls felt terrible and I raged much more than I should've.
I also hated Limbo, so maybe platformers are just not my thing...

Oh and any Sonic game post-2006. My inner Sonic fan never stops sobbing.
Wow, Alice is my favorite game of all time and I absolutely loved Limbo. I would have to agree that you should just ignore all platforming games in the future.

OT:Dead Rising. I was sooo excited for this game and probably would have liked it regardless due to my rose colored glasses when getting it. Except one problem: it was god awful. I could go on about the time limit, the repetitive gameplay, or the annoying (and dumb) NPCs, but I'll just go on about the lack of fun. Playing this game felt like such a chore, I've never gotten past 2 hours of it. I've tried, oh lord have I tried. I think I started the game about four times trying to push into, what I would consider, a playable zone where even bad games become mildly fun. However, the game is just too awful.

Do I Win? Although I still really, really, really, really, REALLY want to say Front Mission Evolved.... I hate that game so much.. I would rather play "drink the stuff under the sink" than load up that game ever again.

Easily frogger the great quest for the PS2

My first ever PS2 game, which came with the pS2. It was absolutely dreadful. Needless to say it has nothing at all to do with the classic arcade game in either story or gameplay besides the name of the protagonist.

And the gameplay is just painful. The story I can't for the life of me remember, so it mustn't have been that memorable.

Oh trust me, I know it's just me and it's all opinion based and both are highly praised games and I liked a few parts of them. I loved Alice: Madness Returns, so maybe I'm just not made for the more elite platformers that don't impliment double-jump. *Laughs*

I thought people weren't allowed to mention it. It isn't even a Fallout game, except for the name.

I want to say Fallout 3 because the game just became so mediocre the moment you realized that V.A.T.S. was the superior way to go, but worst game ever would probably go to Call of Duty: Black Ops.

I can't believe someone said Half-Life 2. Explain yourself.

EDIT: In fact, 90% of games that are based off movies/already existing franchises (you know who you are) are the worst games ever.
VATS = Good
VATS = Boring

Just don't use them? It's more fun and challenging that way.

OT: I would say MW2. I hated pretty much everything about it actually.

no, i havent played too many bad games.
I'd agree, but it does have Zombies, which is a fun thing to waste time with, when you're with friends. Avoid online like the plague though. Console splitscreen, so you can sit on a couch.

Hmm... Bioshock is probably the game I hated the most, but it was by no means the worst, which makes coming up with the *worst* kind of tough. Let's see... There's an N64 game I rented once that was transcendent in its awfulness, but since I can't recall the name of it, I think I'll go with BloodRayne, since it was all kinds of terrible.

Fatal Inertia for the Xbox 360.
Did the developers put any time into that buggy piece of crap? I traded it in the same day I got it.

Well it's noble to admit your faults (jk). Some platformers can be mind numbingly hard, but for some reason I think I have the patience/am stupid enough to stand there, figure them out and do it one million times in a row until success. I get why people are turned off by them because the monotonous chore of doing something over and over again isn't what most people find fun, but I guess I'm a weird one.

In other words: I swear it's not you. You did nothing wrong. It's not you dear, it's me.

Dante's Inferno (I can't believe no one has mentioned this yet)and Borderlands. I can understand that Borderlands can be a fun game, I'm just so bad at FPS's that the whole thing was just lost on me.

But Dante's Inferno is just a reaaaally bad game, regardless of taste.

Kinda a two sided question, yeah? IE: There's the promising looking games that were mediocre or bad and then there's another catagory for things that were just a broken Atari 2600 ET-esque mess.

I'll stick with the 'hoped it would be good' stuff... I'm not really arsed even rating the games I didn't enjoy, usually, so here's an unsorted list of let-downs, C-lists items and failures that I played:

- Postal 2 (loved Postal 1)
- Too Human
- Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
- Daikatana
- Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel (.....*seething contempt*......)
- Final Fantasy 8 --->
- Ultima Online (buggy, broken mess and tech issues outweighed potential fun)
- Halo ODST (liked the others well enough)
- Tribes (3): Vengance (Ken Levine designing a game with jetpacks and grappling hooks? Why then did it feel so WRONG??? Shazbot!)
- C&C Red Alert 2 / 3
- C&C 3+
- Black and White
- Fable 1, 2 (never tried 3)
- Zelda 2 (the fuck?)
- Kings Quest 6+ (5 was the series best IMO)
- Perfect Dark (loved Goldeneye, mind)
- Dungeons (not BAD, but just not DK - the game would have been better if it didn't try to emulate DK's sense of humor and just stuck to the mechanics)
- Quake 3: Arena (Quake 2 had amazing TC mods and community... Quake 3 was too CPU steep at the time and games like Tribes, Counterstrike, Team Fortress Classic offered more diverse MP FPS fun at a lower hardware overhead)
- Worms 3D
- Red Faction 1 / 2
- Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing (Mario Teaches Typing 4life, yo)
- Turok (reboot)
