inFamous 2... WTF?! (SPOLIERS MAY BE INVOLVED AT SOME POINT)

inFamous had to be one of the BEST games for PS3 i have ever played. Hell, I still play it constantly just to hear Cole McGrath tell me who Kessler was and why he did everything. His voice actor was perfect and felt real bad ass when telling a story. My ex even agreed it made you want to hear more.

Now, they gave him hair, tattoos, and a new voice actor... sigh... What the fuck? They should have kept the old voice actor. And sorta the same look. Cole looks like he went from age 24 to 17. And his voice actor sounds like another pretty boy, cocky character done by Nolan North.

Not that I have a problem with Nolan North, nor is the voice actor Nolan... -.-... but I just dislike when the voice actors for beloved characters change.

Another thing that bothers me... the ice powers. Now, I know the Beast is controlling of fire, and I read the GameInformer review. It's not going to play a HUGE part. But Cole is Electric man. Not Electric Man with a touch of Ice, Water, Fire, and What-The-Fuck-Else.

What are your complaints or compliments on inFamous or inFamous 2?

In regards to the game, I can't say. Looks fun from what I've seen up until now and isn't that what a game is all about, having fun?

Oh yeah, the whole new add-on to the climbing and parkour movement. I LOVE the fact that you keep all of your powers from the first one. Such as wire grinding and whatnot, instead of having to constantly unlock them AGAIN, like few games make you do.

To be honest, I like the tattoos. Honestly, I do. I just don't like the voice actor. :/

Honestly? The new look and voice does bug me a little, but not enough to turn me off the game. I can kind of see where they're coming from, though. Most people didn't like Cole's look/voice. I don't think a lot of people understood that Cole's gravelly voice and lack of hair was the product of, you know, the whole LIGHTNING thing, which seemed really obvious to me. But apparently not to most people, so he's been switched out for a much more relatable (Goddamnit, how the hell do you spell that word?) Nathan Drake rip-off.

So, yeah. It bugs me. But again, not enough to stop me from playing it.

When I listen to Cole's new voice, most of the time I expect him to suddenly burst into a rambling account of the time that he and his buddy Zeke decided to make homemade fireworks.

"Well Zeke figure, gasoline burns, right...?"

But on the plus side, watching him beat the shit out of Blacklight victims with an electric mace makes it all worth it.

Oh, definitely won't turn ME away. i am addicted to this game. And the fact that I can beat the hell out of people with a tuning fork-like object, makes it even better. Along with the new climbing abilities. I will still play this game until I beat it one hundred percent, like i am trying with inFamous one (Damn those Blast shards and stunts >_<)

It seemed as if Cole, got younger, and more agile, then they throw in the whole "he has more powers" Heroes type story, which makes it all wtf.

it looks like fun and all, but the story does seem like its going downhill.

Nuuuh! I love Cole. Most people hated his look and voice, but i think I was one of the few who loved it enough to hope they don't kill him. I honestly wouldn't be able to play an inFamous game if Cole wasn't the hero.

I disagree with the ice powers thing. Halfway through the first game I was already bored with the lightning powers. Sure, they're going to come up with some half-assed story about how Cole got ice powers but hey, this game is about destroying everything in sight with kickass powers, isn't it?

Speaking of destroying everything in sight with kick ass powers, I cannae wait for the new Tornado power! And the ability to actually OBLITERATE buildings. I am going to spam that power like no tomorrow.

My only worry is the new Good/Evil thing. They are going to keep it the same... but they are going to make you have to think more on later consequences of the actions. Like, you could do something you think is a good thing, but could turn out bad and make everyone hate you. I hate moral choice systems like that, because then I get WAY too paranoid to make a fucking choice >_<

I just watched the gameplay trailer and I have to admit I like the old Cole better. Yes, he was emo and extremely boring but at least he sounded badass. lol Exactly my problem with it. He looks five years younger and everything. He seems way too cocky now. Sure, he was pretty cocky as an EVIL guy, but he never said he was better than anyone otherwise. This guy acts like he can kick anyone's ass since he kicked his future ass... which sounds odd when said out loud...

Most people didn't like Cole's look/voice.

A lot of people were just fine with Cole's look/voice. They didn't feel like piping up about it because there was no reason to do so - the character was fine for them.

Some of us don't believe in a single iconic male protagonist archetype. I'm crossing my fingers in the hope that new Cole is more of an aesthetic makeover than anything else. If the voice and attitude are a jarring departure, I'll be very disappointed.
