He had time to heal, plus I doubt anyone wouldn't help him with the scars and voice problem, and he could be wearing a wig for all we know.Frozen Donkey Wheel2 said:You do realize he was exploded, right? How should he look?
Yeah, I'm looking forward to what Zeke can do, and how the have Cole handle the whole betrayal thing.Josh Kurber said:I think one thing I enjoy is how much better Zeke will be. He is said to actually HELP you in this one. Even kill some baddies. And he will make weapons or gadgets for you. I guess he is trying real hard to get back on Cole's good side. Which I think he deserves a second chance. Only a second one. I say, if he betrays Cole again, Cole should lock him up, or kill him. I was SO pissed when Zeke betrayed Cole in the first game.
Oh, he IS gettign more powers. He is keeping his old ones too. They said that some of the powers will be slightly different, and then you will gain more. Because, in my opinion, the Shield power was so pointless. I never ONCE used it, even on hard mode. I never found a use for it with the Megawatt Hammer.Last Bullet said:Yeah, I'm looking forward to what Zeke can do, and how the have Cole handle the whole betrayal thing.Josh Kurber said:I think one thing I enjoy is how much better Zeke will be. I'll throw this up in a spoiler for the end of inFAMOUS:And addressing your first post, shouldn't he be getting more powers anyway? I know what you mean, he's still the almighty Lightbulb in my eyes, but look at Kessler.
I know what you mean, I never used the shield. Time would be completely insane, but I doubt it'd happen. It took him years to be able to go back, but I guess that doesn't limit his ability to "stop" it, so it could happen in a future title. A big hope of mine is the final boss battle isn't in one area, I thought it was weird you were stuck to the blastzone in the fight against Kessler. Running through town, using various stuff against the enemy would be pretty cool.Josh Kurber said:Oh, he IS gettign more powers. He is keeping his old ones too. And yeah, there has to be a way for him to eventually gain some kind of Time abilities. I am slowly coming around to the idea of his new powers. He may be Electric Man, but it never said he would only get ONE power. It said the Orb gave him super powerS. So maybe he found a way to manifest his electricity and gain more powers. The ice may be contributed to something about electricity. And time would work with electricity. I would honestly love to see him create little time-free zones in game 3. Like, spaces where only he can move through time and everyone else freezes. He is going to be a BEAST.
I think while Sucker Punch was in the right for changing Cole (admit it, he was a fugly potato and his voice gargle marbles and nails all day), they did step a bit too far with the changes. The character model I don't mind, the voice however was a pretty drastic change and that's what people are up in arms about. If the new voice actor gargles about a quarter of the original VA's nails then it should be fine, but right now it's a bit too smooth compared to the original.FieryTrainwreck said:And, equally according to SuckerPunch, Cole's new look isn't final. There's no reason for them to even mention such a thing unless there's a sizable backlash against the change - which there has been. It might be enough to influence a major character redesign, which is pretty much unprecedented.Josh Kurber said:Actually, no, he was right. According to SuckerPunch a LOT of people hated his look and voice. That's why they wanted to change it. The voice especially.FieryTrainwreck said:A lot of people were just fine with Cole's look/voice. They didn't feel like piping up about it because there was no reason to do so - the character was fine for them. Most people didn't like Cole's look/voice.
Some of us don't believe in a single iconic male protagonist archetype.
So, no, it's not at all cut-and-dry. A bunch of people hated old Cole. A bunch of people hate new Cole. That's where we stand.
Well, then again, he went back in time to train himself, remember? So he may learn the time powers ahead of... well, time. xD. He is more powerful than he was when the Beast first showed up, but then again, in inFamous 2 the Beast showed up earlier than expected. Earlier than he had for Kessler. So Cole gets his ass kicked in the very beginning of the game.Last Bullet said:I know what you mean, I never used the shield. Time would be completely insane, but I doubt it'd happen. And looking at the now-bold...How much would it suck if the ending of the sequel was essentially the same as the first? lol
I think you pretty much summed up the main problems I have with the sequel except for one: From the latest gameplay footage it seems like Sucker Punch is trying to make Infamous 2 more of a cinematic experience a la Uncharted.Josh Kurber said:inFamous had to be one of the BEST games for PS3 i have ever played. Hell, I still play it constantly just to hear Cole McGrath tell me who Kessler was and why he did everything. His voice actor was perfect and felt real bad ass when telling a story. My ex even agreed it made you want to hear more.
Now, they gave him hair, tattoos, and a new voice actor... sigh... What the fuck? They should have kept the old voice actor. And sorta the same look. Cole looks like he went from age 24 to 17. And his voice actor sounds like another pretty boy, cocky character done by Nolan North.
Not that I have a problem with Nolan North, nor is the voice actor Nolan... -.-... but I just dislike when the voice actors for beloved characters change.
Another thing that bothers me... the ice powers. Now, I know the Beast is controlling of fire, and I read the GameInformer review. It's not going to play a HUGE part. But Cole is Electric man. Not Electric Man with a touch of Ice, Water, Fire, and What-The-Fuck-Else.
What are your complaints or compliments on inFamous or inFamous 2?
that's what I meant by his voice actor being another Nolan North. Because ALL of Nolan North's characters are pretty boy wise-asses. Which is why I agree with Yahtzee's review of God of War 3, when he said he would love to see Nolan locked in a room with Kratos and see how far the witty banter gets him before Kratos kills him.Falconus said:Character redesign is fine, the only minor concern I have is that he comes off as a bit of a wise ass in the trailer. So I'm really hoping I don't have to sit through any "witty banter". Other than that though, looks good.
I don't admit that at all. "Not ridiculously handsome" doesn't equal fugly. His voice didn't bother me in the slightest. I can't fathom why people were turned off or offended by his aesthetic. He's meant to be a very rough, very average guy. He was a fucking courier for christ's sake, not a commercial actor.Jumplion said:I think while Sucker Punch was in the right for changing Cole (admit it, he was a fugly potato and his voice gargle marbles and nails all day)
To many people Cole looked like an angry potato, just look at Yahtzee's review (though offended? That's a bit too strong of a word). You may personally not mind Cole's original aesthetic, but that does not make it the be-end-of-all answers. Many people did, including myself, he practically looked in his late 30's now that I think about it, especially if you went the evil route (though one could argue that would be the point, but whatever). While he's meant to look like an average guy, that doesn't mean he can't look at least half-way decent, most "average" guys are.FieryTrainwreck said:I don't admit that at all.
