You are a teenager who can't sleep between 10-12 pm.. YOU DO NOT HAVE FUCKING INSOMNIA! every teenager is like that, it's like that on a biological level, different ages have different sleep patterns, trust me, insomnia is when you can't sleep for fucking DAYS, not between 1-2 hours. god-dammit.
this guy seems to know what he's on about

if you dont have anything to wake you up all teens will gradually turn nocternal.

also ive learned one of threee things, (i cant figure out which, more study is needed)
a) ive become desensitised to my alarm clock , and can sleeep through it without knowing
b) i can sleepwalk across the room turn it off, then sleep walk back into bed
c)i can supress its noise with my mind o_0

either way i now need someone to physically wake me or i will wake when im ready
Aren't a) and c) the same thing? The sleepwalking one is impressive though.
I've always been a morning person anyway so i wake up at 6 without external stimulus. That is when i manage to sleep.

Also, way to encourage the angry guy.

That would be terrible. But the escapist is always a good way to waste lots of time without much effort.

it is my personal belief that they are different as a) implies youve learned to give no responce and c) clearly is a responce

and your waking up at six is far more impressive than mine, yours is godamn uncanny

have you tried changing timezones, or gettting jetlag???, what happens
Haha its just habit. I've done swimming training at that time for like 10 years.

Oh jet lag makes me go to sleep... but its a damn expensive cure.

Do something mentally or physically taxing before bed.

Also, adopt a positive attitude. No "What if," more like "I'm gonna kickass." Or if necessary, "Eh...it's not that bad."

My personal solution: read a book to make your eyes tired.

It takes a specific type of book. The books need to be interesting enough to follow, but not so gripping as to keep you turning pages until the wee hours.

If you find yourself falling asleep with the reading lamp still on, put it on a timer. Nothing wrecks a good book-induced sleep worse than waking up at 2AM because your light is still on.

Of course, this depends on if you enjoy reading or not. I devour good books, so it works for me. Some people hate reading, so it's a moot point.

I have the same problem and usually conk out around 12. i find what you should do is stay up really really late a few days in a row till you are drop dead tired. Then go to bed at whatever time you plan to be your "normal" time. Then you will conk out pretty fast and will probably be good. If that doesn't work, sorry, that's all I got.

Edit: Oh wait. I looked at your profile. DUH! You were born in 1991, making you 18. DUH! Most teenagers go through weird schedules. Insomnia isn't not being able to sleep between a few hours, it's not being able to sleep between a few days. You don't have insomnia buddy. But still, my trick isn't for insomnia, so try it anyway.

Sounds like a good, simple idea. I enjoy reading so I'll definitely give it a go.

I really don't know how to help you. I've been unable to sleep as of late, after staying up for about 30 hours until Friday night, I went to bed hoping to get a good long amount of sleep, woke up at 3 in the morning on Saturday, I got about 7 hours sleep after 30 hours of not sleeping. On Saturday and Sunday I was drinking, which usually helps with sleeping, but I still spent about 2 hours trying to get to sleep on Sunday and eventually managed to at about 3:30, woke up Monday at 10 o'clock in the morning, so 6 and a half hours.

I fell asleep at 9 yesterday and woke up an hour and a half ago at 2 in the morning, can't get back to sleep so here I am.

To be honest afew stiff drinks should sort you, would try to stay away from sleeping pills, unless it gets real bad.
