I have no answers for this myself. I suffer from insomnia quite frequently (almost every damn night) and it's very frustrating. I suppose having a bit of white noise can be helpful to some. I like to turn the TV on and put it on the history channel... Though I usually end up with WWII dreams. o_O Or I just turn up my speakers on my PC and turn on iTunes. Nice soothing metal... Mmm metal. <3
If that works for you... I find it hard to sleep with even the slightest noise. I wish I had a soundproof room.... mmmmmmm
I would advise getting an apartment, buying very nice matching fung shway furniture, then proceeding to have your other personality blow it up. That will fix any problem.

But IS it insomnia? Because people mistake insomnia for not sleepy all the time.
Insomnia means you can't sleep, even though you are exhausted and really really want to sleep.
Well i dunno... its not medically diagnosed. I just sorta lay there and cant get to sleep no matter how hard i try.
But are you sleepy when you're in bed? Or are just there, not tired or sleepy at all?
If it's the former, it's insomnia, all right.
If not, pills can help, as can a lot of physical activity just before going to bed (perhaps you can move your swimming regime to sometime later in the afternoon?)
