The Singer from Raqe was at one point rumoured to be doing an album with DJ Shadow & he appeared on a Blackalicious track. That's the closest he has got to Rap as such. If people like House of Pain & early De La Soul they should check out true party Hip-Hop with an awesome DJ in the form of Ugly Duckling. Saw them live & they had breakdancers, Graf artists & a magician with them. People who keep saying Hip-Hop is just poetry set to music are clueless. Poetry is spoken word, not all rap is. Check out the Latryx album & then tell me it's poetry. The two MC's use their voices as some sort of mad sonic soundscape. Before you can say what a genre is you need to have fully explored it's murky depths, until then your opinion has no base. It's just the same when people write off Reggae after listening to Shaggy & Shabba ranks.
