I searched for this came up trumps so hopefully it's all good.

As the title says, our oh so smart government in Australia is now going to start filtering websites from our searches. Couple this with our no R18+ policy for games (which all here know about, though they just started taking peoples views on this) sometimes i really, really hate this country and the old fogeys running the show.
Sorry if this doesn't make to much sense, i don't do very well with explaining things sometimes. So read the article, post your views or don't. Just thought people should know.

I live in China, I have for the past 6 years. Internet censoring sucks. Youtube and Facebook are both blocked here, and so are all the porn sites. Government controls most of the stuff that goes through. Wikipedia regularly gets blocked as well.

If western countries are going to start this bullshit as well I'm going to get veeeery pissed.

Seriously though, even if I'd never want to see this shit, why can't they do something useful, like combating computer viruses? if you don't like it, don't search it, end of story. What kid is going to look up "rough animal sex with a bound dog"?

Apparently the trial blocked child porn, but also blocked euthanasia websites, regular porn and even a Queensland dental website. We're going to have this clogging up our Internet. The whole point of the Internet is freedom of expression. God knows we have enough trouble connecting to servers overseas.

congrats! I live in china and i have more freedom then you do now! Reason? the internet censor here is a joke and hardly enforced and i can still buy any games that i want(through steam and amazon).
