I make my way about the internet with the assumption that it is merely a program built into my computer and that all sites and handles are randomly generated by advanced algorithms and scripts to make it look as though there are really other people out there and that I'm not really all alone.

How they managed to make it generate all the midget porn, I'll never know.

I am the opposite to most people, while talking to people in the flesh I am rude, annoying and I think after I talk. However on the internet I am calm, well spoken and think out everything I say.
Pretty much the same, I don't like person to person interaction much.

What you read is what you get from me. The abundant commas and parentheses that are sprinkled liberally throughout my posts are, sadly, how I talk if you were to transcribe the mess (such as those commas back there, and these parentheses here). I do like to throw out big words like "transcribe" for no apparent reason... in fact, the only thing missing from actual conversation with me would be the many, numerous and flamboyant hand gestures that accompany speech. That, and if we're people are discussing something I have no interest in, I'm not adding anything. I will melt into the background and keep my yap shut, but since this the internet, I can find that which I have interest in and blab freely. Okay, so I have the time to think things out here, but if something doesn't sound like me, I'm not putting my anonymous name behind it! Besides, should it happen that someone else, inexplicably, also has my odd internet handle, you can always tell the difference between me and that other bastard. However, I think I've rambled long enough (see, a subject I have something to say on, and I prattle like there's no tomorrow), so I flee to... some other topic, I guess.

I have given quite a bit on this website, but I'm usually quite reserved on the Interent. I of course draw the line at my name and actual address because I am a bit worried about people finding my real identity... automatic reflex, I suppose.

As for behaviour, the only difference between my online persona and the kind of person I am in real life is that I think my words through a bit more. I'm a bit more enthusiastic when it comes to real life, but it's something that it's a bit hard to convey through text.

I'm soft-spoken both online and offline, until I discover that something is wrong. My thought process is slow because I want all my statements to be precise, so often in real life I tend to stutter and slowly churn out my thoughts piece by piece which creates a lot of misunderstanding with the people I interact with >_<. On the internet, I gain the advantage of editing my posts if something was misplaced and having enough time for my processing to finish completely.

I'm exactly the same on the internet as I am in real life.

With the obvious exceptions of being able to express myself better using text. And I generally sound more intelligent because I can stop and think about what to say instead of blurting it out and messing something up. But my personality is the same!

I dont think anyone should act different just because we can't see you.

I like getting to know real, genuine people - Not their internet personalities.

Self-esteem. That's the key decider.

Take me. I'm a confident person. As such, I find myself utterly lacking the compulsion to lie about my life. I went for an interview. Didn't get the job. Went for another one. Got the job. Completed my assignment for uni two weeks early. Found a certain mission in CoD4 hard, etc, etc.

If you are confident in yourself, you will not alter your persona online - it will be remarkably similar to offline. If you are not self-assured, you will create an identity you think others wish to see.

Hmmmm, I'm a sarcastic, slightly jaded cynic in life, and I'm no different on the net. I think I get to the point a little quicker on the net tho.

I'm actually a lot nicer in real life. The internet tends to bring out the sarcastic cynicist in me. I am quite opinionated, though, online and off.

I find most people don't look at my profile. They will assume I'm male, or older, or something. I don't mind either really. I mean, I prefer a proper proper noun, but I'm glad I'm not fitting people's stereotyped ideas of girls, or even female gamers (still don't like FF, sorry). And when people think I'm older it's kind of a compliment really. Point is, I think a lot of the time what I say is just taken for what it is, rather than who's saying it.

On privacy, I never lie, I just avoid telling certain truths that will aid stalking. So really, unless the street someone lives on defines a person for you, you can get a pretty good grasp of who I am as a human being.

And as everyone's talking about how they are personality-wise relative to these forums, there's very little difference at all. I type how I talk basically, though listen mostly, just like in life. I hold my temper and I'm outgoing, and I think that shows.

I'm about the same offline as online. Though it takes less time for me to say things out loud than it does to type them.

Also when I begin talking about crabs in real life people have a chance to tell me to shut up before I finish saying it.
An edit button for real life conversations would not go amiss though.

When I started being online alot, I used to lie about my age... A lot. Now I just try to be me. I find it harder to communicate on the internet as opposed to in real life, I could go on forever about things in real life, but as soon as I want to express my opinion online, I usually have to find a thread with a similar subject and find out how they wrote it, so I know how to write it. It's kinda hard to explain. This thing just developed recently, and I am not liking it.

Now depending on how accurate that all is, I might just be playing the lotto this week.
... I wouldn't get that lottery ticket this week Khell. Maybe not for the next year, either...

Though, I would like to have a girl someday. Of course, I'm no way near old, let alone mature, enough to father children, but still... a man can have a dream, can't he?
