Irish quickly followed his superiors lead, taking a left and examining the room via a flashlight. Suddenly, a sign stuck out to him. "Rapture Is Dead..." He muttered, glaring at it. "Sir..." He held the sign up, and showed it to him. "There is some bad news."
He tossed the sign carelessly, letting it fall next to a sign that said "Rapture Metro Closed Indefinitely"
Irish found a breaker, and pulled it. "Here goes nothing."
As the lights sprung on, Larry made his way out of the sphere. "Damn... I love the architecture here, but shit..." He rubbed his finger over an old column. He moved slowly over the red carpeted floors. "Someone should head back, let the others know what we found."
Ripleys smile that took up half of his face slowly collapsed in on itself as he stepped outside the bathysphere and took a good luck around. The beautiful city he saw on the outside was rotten on the inside. "So much for Ryan's utopia." He said reaching into his coat for his revolver "I guess this is why I shouldnt have gotten my hopes up" Ripley said with a sigh.
Ghost emerged form the bathysphere, expecting a heaven-like city only to find out they had reached hell. " Well, Damn...." was a Ghost could say has he removed his revolver for its' holster. Ghost saw a city in ruin with numorse signs claiming the death of rapture. " Looks like a warm welcomes out of the question." He said wall scanning the room.
Sorry lads, my internet has been out all day. I'll move us right along.
The lights flickered and immediately came to life with an almost audible "plink". Majority of them were out, but it was certainly enough light to allow them to see, and enough to let everyone know that they were here. But it didn't matter, they needed the lights on.
"We can't really risk sending anyone back. Five guys with revolvers is a much better scenario than four guys. We'll just send the sphere back and set up a perimeter here in the meantime. Maybe scout ahead and get an idea of what we're running into" Spook said to Larry.
A small booth along the back wall of the room acted as the control panel for the bathyspheres. Or, sphere, considering that all of the others appeared to be missing. It didn't matter though, Spook just needed to send that one back.
The inside of the booth was an absolute mess; aside from the corpse, there was trash littered everywhere, and the floor was coated with glass from when the booth's window had been broken. The controls were simple enough. Each bathysphere had a number and a corresponding lever had the same number. The bathysphere to the surface just happened to be number one. Spook pulled the lever and the sphere sank quietly into the water.
James had almost fallen asleep when he saw the bathysphere rise out of the water. "Huh? Ho, huh, come on, ladies, they sent the sphere back up to us." He said before standing up and walking into the sphere. He sat down on the hard velvet seats and puts his head against the side of the bathysphere, taking note of how cold it was.
"Good considering their not still on board and the lack of blood on the interior they must still be alive and the general area is still safe." Susan said stepping onto the bathysphere and sitting down near the lever.
Melody followed James and Susan inside the bathysphere, shivering at the difference in temperature as she sat down as far from the door as possible. "Vell...are we ready?"
Larry leaned down over one of the corpses and felt its head. "This man's been dead for weeks. Judging by the temperature and lack of bullet holes... it seems like this guy froze to death." He reached into the man's pockets and removed a wallet. Upon opening it, he discovered the wallet was empty. "This body's already been looted pretty thoroughly."
"As we'll ever be." Susan said pulling the lever. 10 Fathoms...20 fathoms...30 Fathoms signs pointed out as the bathysphere sank beneath the water. A screen fell in front of the window and a picture of Andrew Ryan appeared as a voice recording said."Hello I am Andrew Ryan..." The video played as the bathysphere traveled under the water, The screen flipped up as Ryan continued" I chose...Rapture!" And the city unfolded in front of their eyes.
Susan could only say one thing. "I guess we were both right, He has a huge ego and he's compensating for something." She said to Melody as the approached a tunnel with arches the read All good things on this earth flow into Rapture. A few minutes later the bathysphere surfaced in a dimly lit room and the door opened. Susan stepped out and joined the others that were waiting. "Hello again every one." She said drawing her own pistol.
Sorry to rush by that but we need to get this thing underway.
James slowly sat up, his mind barley able to comprehend what he just saw. "My god. What have we found?" He asked himself before fumbling for his revolver. "If this place really is as that madman says, than we are in a world where we are not welcome in the least."
Well, it depends on whenever you want to write the plasmid in, really. You could find it in the next room if you really wanted.
The sphere's rising from the water meant that everything was going alright thus far and allowed him the luxury of momentary relaxation. He sat down on top of one of the old suitcases laying around, no doubt the belongings of one of the numerous nearby victims. He took in a deep breath and let it out slowly.
"We need a game plan." He said finally, looking over at the others. "Any ideas?"
"Well, sir." Ripley said to Spook "There is one way out of this room by the looks of it."He said indicating the path ahead with his free hand. "So I guess we just have to follow the red carpetand keep our eyes peeled."
I am kinda basing this off of the opening room from the first game so ignore this if you have a diffrent idea in mind
I want each RPer to decide for themselves how they find their plasmids, it makes things much more interesting. So it's honestly up to you. I think I'll wait a little while for mine, though.
Larry grabbed one of the suitcases and unzipped it. Inside he found a tape recorder and dozens of empty syringes. He grabbed the tape recorder and listened to it.
"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players... yet... with plasmids... the players can change the stage... and the stage is no longer a stage... but clay to shape to my liking." The sound of something clanking was in the background of the man's voice. The man gasped before continuing in a whisper. "I better keep my quiet... don't want to alert Daddy..."
"What the fuck was that?" Larry said to the group.
"Sounded like a deranged actor stuck playing a child." Susan guessed. "What I want to now is what was the clunking noise and what the hell are plasmids?" She asked looking down the red carpet. "But we should probably get moving we won't find anything we're looking for if we just stay here and poke through peoples luggage."
"I dont think we should pay too much attention to that" Ripley said looking at the open suitcase and all the empty and dirty looking needles. "By the looks of all those I say he was drugged out of his mind at the time of recording."
Well, if we want to kinda go in the same direction as Jack went in Bioshock one, then we can use this map [http://bioshock.wikia.com/wiki/Welcome_to_Rapture/Map] to kinda navigate, I suppose. It might be easier just to fuck all that though at make it up as we go along.
"Well, there's no use sitting around here. The place being completely fuckin' destroyed does not change the mission. We're gonna gather intelligence and then everyone is going to get out of here alive. Got it?" Spook said, as he rose from the place where he was sitting.
