So, after coming back to the forums more regularly after only dwelling in the user groups for many many months, I came to the realization that I...well, I quite frankly don't know any of the newer users or the people that became regulars while I'd been away. The recent threads about Community Awards confirmed that, as I was unfamiliar with all but a handful of people nominated, and even then it was mostly simply recognizing the name and nothing more.

So, in a bid to get us all more acquainted, I propose a mass introduction to each other. You may provide as much or as little information about yourself as you want, but obviously the more about you we know, the better. This is open to all members; new, old, well known, "nobodies", everyone!

I'll start. *ahem*

Hello there! My name is Nathan, but everyone on the net just ends up calling me Ty. I've been a part of the Escapist site since 2008, back when De-Rez and Yahtzee were the only things worth watching. I've been prominent members of both The Escapist Gaymers and the Furrehs (the latter of which I also founded). I've been in a relationship for four, coming up on five years with an amazing guy ^_^ (not on this site).

I mostly spend my days gaming or browsing the net as any good, unemployed person in their early 20's would do. But my aspirations are to one day write professionally, either as a critic/reviewer or as a full fledged novel/screenplay writer. I've been trying to write short stories recently to build my skill and confidence as a writer.

My interests seems to be all over the nerdy spectrum, but my main interests are action gaming, anime, and following pro wrestling. Incidentally, my favorite animes are Azumanga Daioh and Haruhi, but if Baccano! stays quality, then I'll have to add that. I'm also an avid fan of Star Trek and Doctor Who (along with a lot of other BBC panel shows like QI and NMTB)

IRL I'm kinda of quiet to other people, not wanting to get in others way or be a bother. In private I can get loud when I open up and have a good conversation with others.

On any social site or gaming network, my name is the same as it is here. If it's a major one then there's no doubt it's me. But if there's someone named "TheTygerfire" on some random dating site or something, it's not me.

---
I trust that's enough about myself, but feel free to ask me anything else if you'd like, here or in Private Message. Other than that, I leave this topic to all of you. Best case scenario, we find people with similar interests we can talk to and build me friendships between members. Again, be as detailed or as brief as you want. Thanks for reading, and hopefully this goes somewhere :D

I'm game, Not really that much to hide on my part :p

I am staika my real name is Jeffrey but everyone calls me Jeff since I hate being called by my full name. I just turned 20 years old, (my birthday was the 10th) and I've been on the site since 2007-2008 range for yahtzee but never made an account or knew anything about forums. In 2009 I finally made an account but I never used it until November of 2010 and I really didn't post that much until September 3rd when I joined the pub club. I had a little over 1000 posts at the time and now I have more than 8000 so I have been posting quite a lot in the past few months.

I am currently a networking student at a small technical school. I was an intelligence major a few months ago but the major had very high standards I didn't think I could keep so I dropped it and took something I enjoyed and I am much happier as a networking student.

As for my interests I enjoy writing and editing stuff. I am pretty good at photo editing and making avatars, I am also learning how to edit videos now so I can make an abridged series. I am having problems with the ordering the software though so it's going to take awhile before I can get it started.

I am usually spending my free time on skype in my RP group chat and it has taken control of my life. I am also a very loud and random person who likes to be funny. If you want to you can add me on skype, I usually accept contacts without a second thought. I'm a pretty open person so I don't mind questions :p

some may be able to tell from my avatar that I really like a certain New zealnd comic strip

I love videogames more than whats probably healthy, I have a prefernce for PC but also have a console...for some reason playing games on a console just doesnt feel as good as at a desk on a PC, I favor the 3rd person action/RPG/shooter games...generlaly I'll play anywaything excpet RTS's and MMO's (which may make you wonder why I prefer PC)

I also have a thing for figurines/action figures....almost any game Ive played you can bet I have the action figure if it exists..Im running out of shelf space

I also had a habit of plastering my surroundings with posters..movie posters
so in other words if anyone was to see my room it would look like a steryotypical geek's den

I can also be a bit nurotic about silly things at times (Ive moved my PS3 from my room to the loungeroom several times now because It just doesnt "feel" right and I worry about having others around to share the big TV)

I have occasionally have gaming related onlin freak-outs (is pc gaming dying? will digital distribution take over? are there no good agmes?) but thease are less common nowdays

I have also been reading comicbooks..I love comic book art

Ive had a few creative persuits...which Im not particaly good at but I really should pursue otherwise I'll never get better

the escapist in my new vice and you wont be seeing me around when ME3 comes out

Sometimes I look around me room and I don't like the fact I don't have any posters around my room, even though I said I would get some for myself when we moved to our newer house. I don't have many figures, but I have stuffed toys x3

Are we even going to pretend this isn't a "talk about yourself like everyone wants to" thread?

I play basketball, read philosophy, enjoy spending time with friends and loved ones, and have a keen eye for detail. Oh and I have a 3.9 GPA. I'm also very handsome and I have a great sense of humor.

Oh and I'm working towards a degree for Biotechnology.

You can think that if you want, but we apparently never had a proper introduction thread on this section of the site.

My name is Peter. I'm a Reviewer, Novelist, Play-write, Poet, and Journalist to be, though I'm still working my way up the ladder that is freelance writing. I'm mostly, however, a student on his way to University and other such great things. I'm also the worlds silliest person and most handsome gamer.

Did I mention I'm a reviewer? [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.337751-Pimpin-Reviews-Top-11-of-2011]

Ok, I guess I could use an introduction.
Well, I am a strange person who enjoys telling stories in which he looks like a fool or a madman, most of which are exaggerated real life stories. I tend to switch moods quite often and at random so I'm very inconsistent as far as establishing a personality on the net goes, I also am a very inconsistent poster as some days a lot, and some months I post every single day but I also go months without saying a single thing.
Also I tend to be very hyperbolic and normally my reaction to something is not quite as strong as it seems, I think it might also be necessary to mention that I'm Mexican and live in México just because I was once accused of being an illegal immigrant, so just so you know, no I'm not even immigrant legal or otherwise.
I also tend to move a lot, almost every year I seem to move to a new place almost every year.
So, there you go that should be enough for now.

I'm an 18 year old, male Australian and have been a member of these forums for almost four years now, which is apparently long enough to make me occasionally feel nostalgic towards how the forum used to be in those earlier years.

I guess I've never really made much of an impression in these forums due to a high lurking to posting ratio (I dislike posting in threads where my opinion will just be mirrored by a bunch of other posters) and because I've never really said much about myself in my posts, many of which are just simple "jokes".

I'm currently working towards a career (or hobby at the very least) as an amateur indie game dev and I'm currently working on my first real game.

I'm a big fan of games that use new mechanics in interesting ways and especially ones that use them to further develop story telling techniques in games as a medium.

I could continue by listing some of my non-gaming interests and opinions but I think it would just make this post even more off topic, which would be quite a feat considering the already broad definition of this thread.

In retrospect, this is probably the most I've ever actually said about myself in a thread here.

Looking back on what I just typed, the tone seems somewhat morose, but I blame that on jetlag.

I'm esotera, 20 year-old male.

I enjoy programming/linux, so have a few projects going on that most of the time. I'm also a biochemistry undergraduate so can answer some of your questions about science.

Yo, I'm Manic. I've never actually been diagnosed with bipolar disorder; My name is really just a tasteless joke.

I'm doing an arts/education degree at uni but I'm failing because I can't take it seriously. Educational psychology is a comical pseudo-science and English is just taking pieces of writing that are quite interesting and clever and wanking all over them. Yes, they're quite good, but my enjoyment of them is impeded when I have to read them through a layer of ejaculate. I didn't hand in half my assignments last semester. Nothing really interests me. I'm never going to achieve anything and I should just kill myself, but I'm a coward and the whole process seems like it would be a bother.

Nice to meet you.

I think you're more in line with your username than you're aware of. :p

If I'm in the mood, I'll be a little open about who I am later.

Ahoy.

I'm Ashley and I'm a guy and yes, I'm very well aware that in some parts of the world, Ashley is a girl's name, but those parts of the world are wrong and will all be crushed under my mighty heel.

I'm 24, British, a Law & Criminology graduate and currently unemployed (thanks recession, I really appreciate it).

I have a real passion for video gaming, and have been playing for 20 years, I like long walks on the beach and candle lit dinners and I'm looking for a man with a troubled past so that I can vainly attempt to change him.

Some of the above may be false, I'll let you figure it out.

I'm Justin. I'm just a 20 year old who spends his time working (at a factory), playing video games, and spending more time on the Escapist than is healthy. I'm also open to conversation, so PM me if you just want to chat.
