My name is Charlie. I'm a 20 year old Caucasian male. American.

I love video games. (Although that should be obvious) My first game was technically Duck Hunt for the NES, but I consider my very first game that I've played more than once would be Crash Bandicoot 2 for the PS1.

My most favorite game of all time is Shadow of the Colossus. But I also enjoy games like Angry Birds, Halo, Final Fantasy VII and IX and most recently, Katawa Shoujo. I like to play a wide variety of games.

As for stuff non-game related: I am currently volunteering at a place called the Food Bank. It's a place where we give out donated food to families who don't have very much money and can't afford all the necessities in life. Like, well, food. I mostly work as a courtesy clerk and help them put their groceries into their cars. But I also sort food, carry heavy items, and clean up the place as well.

I also go to a community college. Although I don't really have a major at the moment. So my goal for right now is to find a paying job in order to begin saving up for an apartment. Specifically at a grocery store. So I can apply the skills I have learned at the Food Bank to someplace else.

I'm also a twin. My brother and I used to look almost exactly alike when we were little. But we both look rather distinctive from one another in my opinion.

Finally, I have a mild form of autism. So as a result, my social skills aren't necessarily the best. But I think I've mostly overcome it now and I can move forward.

Holy crap I've shared a lot about myself. Hope that wasn't too long. :p

If anyone has any questions feel free to PM me. Or don't. Either way is fine. :/

I suppose I'd better chime in here. Well, I've been lurking the escapist for quite a while, but I wasn't certain if I wanted to actually join the community or not until recently. I'm considering my username to be temporary for the time being, as it was just a means to get my foot through the door (so to speak), but I don't feel that it actually suits me. I typically go by a couple of different usernames on various other sites, but have grown bored of them over time and am considering a complete online identity overhaul. So, if anyone has any better ideas for a good moniker, I look forward to hearing them. I probably won't be using an avatar until I've completely decided what I'll be going by.

Let's see, what can I say about myself that's not too personal. Well, as I've said in another thread, I'm a former Marine who has an honorable discharge. My job while I was in was a Mechanic, but for some reason, neither of which has helped me find work all that much here in the civilian world. I have NOT killed anyone at any point in my life, but if I was ever put in the situation where someone else was trying to kill me or anyone I happen to know, you'd better believe I'm walking away from there still breathing. I've already survived my time in a war zone, I'd better not get taken out by something stupid now that I'm done with all that. Now, that said, I try not to let my service go to my head. I'll admit I haven't been 100% successful in this reguard, but I've taken some steps in order to prevent that happening in the future.

To be honest, I'm not sure what else to put here, I guess if anyone wants to know anymore about me, then just ask me some questions.

I'm happy that you thought to post here for one of your first posts.

Oh my goodness I totally forgot to thank you! I think this is a great idea and the escapist is the first ever forum I've been to that didn't have one of these. You deserve a pizza-trophy.
Pizza trophy?....
o.o that sounds shiny and delicious.

My name is Ross, I come from Scotland, I'll be 21 at the end of the month and I've been up all night trying to finalise my Honours Project proposal document and putting it off.

Other than that I'm a massive nerd that somehow juggles a small but decent social life. I obsess over story details, narrative and canon to ungodly degree which is useful as I hope to be a writer in some medium or other in the future. Without meaning to brag I've had a successful romantic life for someone so nerdy. Doubly surprising round my parts considering my musical and fashion sense as a teenager (the latter of which hasn't evolved as much as the former).

On here my most recognisable moment was probably jumping in to summarise the entire plot of Metal Gear in a short yet concise manner. The only time I've been "this"'d :'(

The name's Ryan. I live in Perth (The capital that's so far away from everything else in Australia we might as well be a different country). I'm 18, I work in a concrete factory and my friends keep commenting on my height (6 foot 5).

I grew up mainly with Snes games, so I sometimes lean towards older games more. My current main console is the 360, with Arkham Asylum/City and Driver SF being my favourite games right now.

Like most, I came to this site for Yahtzee (thanks for the link Explosm) and stayed for the forums.

Uhhhh... I also like ice cream. Quite a lot.

Hello. My name is Josh, but I've gotten used to people calling me DJ online and prefer it.

I just recently turned 22 and live in Arizona (I hate it here).

I listen to many different genres of music, but my favorites are metal and dubstep.

My favorite book series is The Dresden Files.

In all honesty I'm not a big fan of this site anymore, but I've made some friends, so I stick around. I originally joined for ZP.

I've been on this forum for a couple of months now, so now's as good a time as any to introduce myself, right?

I'm 24 years old, female, from Europe.

I've been gaming for over 18 years, own a bunch of retro and next-gen consoles of which the PS3 is my favourite. I play a lot of games and from many different genres. Some of my favourite games include FFX, Soul Calibur 2, Uncharted 2, Batman: Arkham City, AC:2, Beyond Good and Evil, Skyrim, the Jak & Daxter series... I could go on ;-)

I used to frequent a lot of (Dutch) forums when I was younger, but kind of lost the habit.

I work in the video game industry as a translator, which is an entertaining and challenging job ;)

I'm Zack Alklazaris,

I am a legendary guitar player who constantly has huge parties in my flying sky mansion.

Well maybe not.

My real name is Matt and I am 25 years old. I am a university graduate with a bachelors degree in film/tv. I work at a CBS affiliated broadcasting station as a director. I'm happily married to my amazing geeky gamer wife who kicks my ass in more games than I would like to admit. We watch a lot of Star Trek, Big Bang Theory, and Criminal Minds. I play a lot of games from sims to shooters, but I recently have gotten addicted to Old Republic.

My name is Chris. English, male 17 year old student. Oh and I have Asperger's syndrome though I've pretty much overcome most social difficulties through experience and age so I suppose one could say I "grew out of it" if that makes any sense.

Big fan of gamesmostly consoles, I don't have money for PC gaming [-Insert Sad Face here-], manga/anime (preferably with interesting concepts that can stimulate my thought process) and animals. I'm training to be a Veterinary Scientist or just work with animals yet I'm arachnophobic. I'm a Nihilistic (Life has no meaning, so I have to make myself one) Darwinian Christian - though it's more like I've got my own set of religious beliefs that don't really fit in any major religion that I know of - but I don't like discussing religion, especially here on the escapist; I tend to become the target of evangelist and/or angry atheists which bugs.

I have a long distance girlfriend in America who wants to come live with me in England. I have trouble sleeping difficulties so I end up sitting in bed thinking about things, usually negative (recently managed to figure out that I'm ashamed of my childhood). I'm honest, have little romantic experience, a dry sense of humour and while I think firearms are somewhat interesting in their mechanics and appearance, I wouldn't allow myself to use one, even if it's just an Airsoft

Favourite Book, The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain
Favourite Games: Bayonetta, Halo Reach and Skyrim. Dark Souls would go on there as well but...Well, Dark Souls.
Favourite Movie, District 9
Favourite thing on the escapist, The Big Picture
Goal in Life: Live a full life, die painlessly

Hello, my name is Superior Mind.

I say my real name is Simon DuPrier but it's not. Simon DuPrier is just an anagram of Superior Mind. Still, you can call me Simon.

I began life as a pseudonym-ed contributor to a university magazine, I picked the name because people are more likely to take issue with people who come across as arrogant and I wanted to inspire debate. However since I rarely wrote anything of relevance I just kept writing convoluted semi-humourous gibberish instead which was at least fun.

I'm currently 24, I'm male, average height and build, I live in Wellington New Zealand and I currently work as a media summary writer when I'm not too busy being a student of design. I am also a graduate of Political Science from Victoria University and a soldier in the New Zealand Territorial Army. I enjoy playing guitar, writing convoluted semi-humourous gibberish and occasionally drawing cartoons.

Pleased to meet you.
