What's next...You're going to tell me the E71 is a BlackBerry knockoff and that it has BlackBerry Connect?
actually it IS a BlackBerry knock off, it has the same form factor, the same style keyboard, the same type of features, the same screen style, the same style icons

please point out how it's NOT a knock off instead of going after personal insults
The fact that Nokia were doing business phones about half-a-decade before RIM has something to do with it, and the fact that Symbian OS is based on an operating system from the early 1990s, whereas the first fully-featured BlackBerry only came into the market in 2002 has something else to do with it. The Nokia Communicators had the same type of features as the BlackBerry before the BlackBerry was even invented.
actually ALL cell phones from the start were "business" phones, they were too expensive to have for anything but that. it wasn't until the early 90s or so that consumer lvl phones came out and that everyone could afford them

as for pushing email and "internet" type stuff, that didn't come until later, this was due to a limit with the networks at the time, most of the older nokia phones were just pdas with phone features and no internet stuff that the blackberry does

I think getting the iphone would be a good idea, I got an ipod touch with iphone software, so I could imagine it would be like that except you don't need to be near a wi-fi point to go on the internet and you can use it as a phone. if it is anything like that then I would go with the iphone.

Copied from the other cell phone thread from TODAY.

Buy the cheapest one for god's sake. It's a phone, not medical insurance!

I never got why people have to 'stuff their pants' as it were with gadgets like mobiles. Everyone has one now, they're not special, just use them to call and text people as that's all they're REALLY needed for.

(this goes ten time for iPhones, nothing but fashion toys)
Yeah my NAN says the same thing.

Having cool gadgets makes most people happy. Nothing wrong with it.

The iphone would be a worthwhile investment if a) it wasnt so damn expensive ( here in the UK at least) and b) if it had the specs to match the other phones out there. I mean, a 2MP camera is shoddy on a phone these days

I can't believe after all the effort I went through that I failed to convert somebody away from the iPhone. I feel like an utter failure as an argumentative sod. If anybody needs me, I'll be refining my arguments for the next encounter.
If it helps, you've convinced me not to buy an iPhone.

That's fine, but on the other hand. The best thing about the iPhone is I can have numerous devices in 1 little package. So I can get my emails, check cinema times, various other things on the move when I don't have access to a PC. Its got a decent MP3 player, since it is basically an iPod Touch. And its a phone all in 1 slim little device. Its not about being a fashion accessory, for me it was the best phone at the moment with the best user interface for what I needed.

I mean think about it, would you rather carry a few devices such as an MP3 player and a phone? Or just one?
You sound like a commercial.....its a little creepy.

I do appreciate the effort, I mainly got it for the deal optus offered me. In Australia 700 mg of net is a lot as our phone companies are awful.
