Is 2010 going to be the best year for games yet?

First half of the year looks to be pretty huge. Yay for Valkyria Chronicles 2 and Heavy Rain!

I think it will be the best year yet. Big franchise titles such as God Of War 3, SMG2, Bayonetta (which people have been saying could well be better than God Of War) MH3, Heavy Rain, Alan Wake, No More Heroes 2, Metroid: Other M, FFXIII...
At the very least, it will be better than this year, which I consider one of the worst in a while. Every console fanboy is touting this next year to be the best for their console, meaning it's going to be the best for every console.

They said 2007 would be the best year and that it would be hard to top it, then they said that about 2008, then 2009 had a pretty damn fine year for gaming as well. 2010 will be pretty awesome from the looks of things.
I somehow doubt it, as that phrase has been touted every year, for years. There will be the usual improvements in some sequels, the sequels that utterly fail to recapture the magic of the first, the experiments that succeed, the experiments that fail completely, and the usual round of inevitable grizzled space marine rodeos that are wholly adequate and are really just time wasters until the interesting games come out. And, like usual, graphics will improve, and that will seem to distract people from the fact that the majority of games are not all that interesting to play.
One thing that certainly seems to be the case, is games will be getting shorter and shorter. Which is not a good thing.

Army of Two: 40th day, Mass Effect 2, Serious Sam HD, Darksiders, Bad Company 2, Just Cause 2, Brink, Crackdown 2, Crysis 2, Kingdom Under Fire 2, Supreme Commander 2 and 40K: Space Marine.

Well this question is asked every year... Being the best year for games will depend on the person. Some people might not care about Final Fantasy XIII or Mass Effect 2 (I do, though).
As for me... I hope the games I'm waiting for are good.
