Is 2010 going to be the best year for games yet?

Well I hope so because next year is when I formally join the rat race that is gaming because then I shall have a job to buy all of these games so that I too can enjoy games. Although I would have to say the only game I am looking forward to is Mass Effect 2 because the fist one was great and I hope they don't mess up the next one.

I have no idea which year I'd say was the objective best for gaming, but this year has been pretty damn good. Next year looks like being pretty damn good too. We, my friends, are lucky people. Admittedly there is a sea of shitty games out there, but recently we've been handed quite a lot of diamonds to counter that.

I'm not sure about adding 2010. We really won't know until about 2015, then we can make a judgment about it.

I'm looking forward to it, but I always look forward to new games. I DO wish we'd see a little less sequels and a little more original concepts. I'm not going to complain too much though.

Interestingly though, this might be the year that finally makes me want a PS3 though. I've been teetering on the edge with Demon's Soul's and Little Big Planet out there, but with motherfucking HARD RAIN coming out among other slightly less interesting fair, I might spring for it.

2010 the best? I certainly dont think so. To me 1998 was the golden year for gaming. Ocarina of Time, Starcraft, Banjo-Kazooie, Baldur's Gate, Fallout....Pokemon.....Although I'm excited for Halo: Reach and Last Guardian and if Mario Galaxy 2 comes out I might actually buy a Wii game for the first time in 18 months.

2. I don't. But it's a new Final Fantasy numbers entry and that's always very exciting. Except when it's an online game, those have no business being in the numbers set.

Well, it will have Starcraft 2 and Pokemon Heartgold and Soulsilver, so it may be a good year. But I think 2004 was, and will be for a while, the best year in gaming (Half Life 2, Halo 2, World of Warcraft, etc).

2010 will more more games that I give two shits about, but I do not think it will be the new benchmark for gaming. The best year for me gaming wise is the year God of War first came out. In 2010, there are about 50 games that I want to play, and a dozen or so that I already preordered.

About the best I can say is that it might be the PS3's best year because it appears that a lot of exclusives will be released for it. Whether they suck or not will depend on the game itself.
