Is a fanfiction depicting the murder of Randy Pitchford ok?

Saying she "kinda likes" something is enough to make me discredit your complaint. What sealed the deal for me was that it was a fanfiction. Really? You're mad over someone kinda liking a fanfiction that they was in. Grow up.
It's just a flash game, what's the big deal?
Do you have any objection to that statement?
You kinda like the game? Okay. The game sucks, but whatever.
What he is trying to say is that the game got flak, being anti women

a story that is anti man gets a free ride, why?
You're putting words in my mouth. You can kinda like whatever you want.

You aren't answering the question, why is it that people get mad at the anti-anita game, but not upset but the fact she is depicted in a form of media that is an anti-male game? Hmm, mind answering that question in your wisdom, to prove that I am the fool for raising such a question?

But I never said that either was okay. In fact I never mentioned my opinion on the game or the fan fic. You're also begging a question that was never asked. How desperate are you to prove me wrong on an opinion?

Personally, I don't feel strongly one way or the other about the two works. That answer probably won't satisfy you though... since you won't stop badgering me about this, do you want the anthropological reason why the flash game is frowned upon?

No you gave an answer, you are being neutral, fair enough. Taking a third option as T.V. Tropes puts it.

Very well then I won't ask you the question any more.

It's "OK" purely in that she has every right to post it and like it.

By the same rule, it's perfectly OK for me to dislike her EVEN MORE for it, and question her mental stability.
I rarely do this, but can we /thread right here?

Over analyzing what Anita likes isn't going to go anywhere further than over analyzing what I like and find funny. It's funny to the person and that's the end of that. That said, this is the biggest instance of the pot calling the kettle black, and it more or less does invalidate everything she has told the world what she is about. It's no different than a person getting cigarettes banned in public places, only to find out that they smoke 3 packs a day.

What third option? You asked a "Why" question. "Why" questions have infinite answers and opinions. If you choose to dismiss my opinion because it doesn't fit into your tunnel vision, so be it.

According to Anita, she is no longer a feminist. Seriously, check out her trope video about True Grit. She criticized people calling Mattie Ross a feminist, because she wanted to kill a guy.

Someone earlier in this thread complained that Anita is overanalyzed. She put herself out there by overanalyzing videogames. Did anyone think that the Mario games were sexist before she complained about Princess Peach?

Overall, posting and endorsing that fanfic shows how tone deaf she is. She claims it's OK to enjoy videogames she mentions in her videos. At the same time, shaming anyone who like any videogames she deems as sexist.

I'm sorry but this is the case. You are just trying to hate on her.

Because if you weren't trying to hate on her you'd be offended by the Fan Fiction, not the fact that she sorta enjoyed it.
That is where you are wrong, I am offenened by the fanfiction, if I wasn't going to get into trouble, I'd post my video explaining my opinion on the matter. But if you wish to find it, type in Bren Tenkage, its one of my latest videos.

Of course I don't like the game I was pointing out the double standard.

Flash game depicting violence against Anita = Bad
Fan fiction depicting violence against Randy Pitchford = Funny

That is a double standard.
Neither are funny and both are bad, but for different reasons. The flash game is seen as bad is because Anita's cyberbullying. The flash game isn't critisism nor parody; it is just more cyberbullying. The Randy Pitchford fan fic, on the other hand, has no context and is just a random act of cartoon violence with the intent to parody. If you don't understand why context changes people's view on things, then your delusional.

And no, this isn't a case of "sacred cow". That trope is specifically for criticism and calling out flaws, not cyberbullying.

You are wrong about one thing however, the game was made with the comment that, "There are barely any games where you can hit a women, lets make it equal and add more" as a way to show that equal rights can come with a price, you have to take all the perks and all the prices.

I'm not condoning the game, but you need to know the game did in fact have a purpose beyond bullying

And I should point out she has publicly shamed people for expressing a different opinion to her, so yeah, she is in fact a sacred cow. I should also point out I've been harressed by her supporters and Movie Bobs. I've been sent death threats and called a women hater. But do you see me publicly shaming them. No I take it like someoen who knows that you live by the internet, you die by it

Yes, just yes, that's all I'm going to say, a lot and I mean a lot of people called the mario franchise sexist long before Anita came along. The Super Princess Peach game had it's own little controversy a few years before the gender in games argument gained steam, and before anyone even knew who Anita was. Seriously, her first solo game and her power revolves around extreme mood swings, even if it wasn't intentional that shit was still going to draw criticisms, and almost every review for the game joked about it.

The now defunct Gamespy website once named Peach as the most sexist girl character in gaming years ago. For what it's worth I disagree with most of it, but that doesn't mean a there weren't people complaining about it

I'm glad Anita's name was not in the title, so I had no way of knowing she would be somehow involved. I've only seen Randy Pitchford in a few interviews, he seems nice enough and enthusiastic about his games, I'll never meet him, I'm not a fan of Borderlands (Brothers in Arms is pretty good, though) and I'm pretty desensitized thanks to the sheer amount of bizarre shit that I've seen on the internet.

That said, do you want to know what I thought when I read the title? "Well, that's fucked up..." I thought the OP was asking because he wanted to write some fanfiction where he kills Randy Pitchford, so I came here to say just that. And then... Anita again. Holy shit this woman is everywhere.

I don't particularly care about her, what she has to say about sexism among koala bears, or fanfiction, so my opinion remains unchanged, regardless of who wrote it or who likes it. "Well, that's fucked up..."

Then why is this thread not about the Fan Fiction?
The fact is you're using this fan fiction as a vehicle to attack her. Nothing more. Who gives a shit if a person likes a thing.

Tell me why the fuck does no one analyze Yahtzee Croshaw? Or Jim Sterling? Or any number of these so-called video game personalities. And yes some probably do, but the number of times that Anita is scrutinized compared to the average video game personality is probably about 20:1.

If you don't like her arguments, then make a counter. But attacking an individual is just low regardless of what things they like.
I suppose you are right.

How about this. Tell me, why is it ok for her to post the fanfiction, despite the fact she is against any form of media that is against women?

I can same the same about other feminist groups all in the name of their cause.

It may be for a cause but bullying is bullying. I can not defend it beyond explaing what the purpose was for.

Don't you just love unverifiable opinions paraded as "facts"

20:1 do you have any evidence of this? What constitutes scrutiny?

No one analysed Jim Sterling? Plenty of people "analysed" Jim Sterling, even ignoring the vitriol he received at the start of his series, he still receives plenty of "analysis" every week on his videos.

The key difference between Anita and other personalities is that they don't censor discussion. Perhaps the analysis appears so widespread, because they don't have a voice where it matters.
