Is anyone else psyched for the upcoming Avatar: The Legend of Korra mini-series?

I for one, cannot wait. I want to see what new direction they take in the universe, but I'm also afraid of tying loose ends that should have been up to the viewer, like the future of the Airbenders.

I only watched the original series recently and was blown away, yeah I have to say I'm looking forward to it.

Gah. I was worried we would have to endure a new James Camron movie so soon.

I loved Avatar though, glad to hear there will be more of it.

The future of the airbenders cant be up to the viewer first off cause we saw Aang and Katara at the end of the series kissing/ probably procreating with each other. So there's that then when that kid procreates we have no idea who its going to be with then that brings the whole Airbender race back with it. Any who Korra is not Aang and Kataras daughter but i believe she will meet toph.
Also by the way I don't believe it is not going to be a mini series, that's me hoping though.

Yeah, kinda. On the one hand, I love the original series. But largely because the characters were so fleshed out and well characterized that I really started to care for them. So well the new series will probably still be great, it's gonna be kinda sad to say goodbye to Aang and the others, though I'm sure there will be a few characters sticking around.

I'm really looking forward to it, though I'm annoyed that I haven't heard anything about it lately. Then again that's probably my fault.

Definitely looking forward to it! Avatar was such a gem of a series: fleshed out characters, well delivered comedy, and (for once) filler episodes that were just as entertaining as the plot driven ones. Great series. Avatar can do no wrong, unless thoroughly proven wrong. So I go into the new mini-series with an eager, positive attitude.

And for those who are curious (and if Wikipedia is to be trusted) it should be coming out next year.

What.

I'm sure you agree that that's quite a conclusion jump now isn't it? Aren't the two characters intended to be twelve years old? Unless this new story arc takes place a good chunk of years after the fall of the Fire Nation I would hold my breath on this.

And probably stop being so innocently perverse.

This new series takes place 70 years later, and Aang and Katara's son will be teaching the next avatar airbending. Yes, their son. So Piction Froject is correct.

I loved the original series. I didn't see it until long after it was done airing and I ended up watching all three seasons in three days. So I can't wait for the new one.

The future of the Airbenders is nicely covered in the unauthorized pornographic series.

It definitely won't be as great as the original, but I think that it will be up there. It sounds like a good enough concept that it should work. And since it's in the hands of the original people, it should be made just as well as the first series

I am so excited, I had no idea that they had already came up with a name for it. Thank you for the update, I hope this show doesn't disappoint.

I only got around to watching the original series just recently, so yeah, I'm understandably pumped. One of the things I always enjoy about great shows is getting into the fandom, and because I wasn't into Last Airbender at the time it was airing, I feel like I totally missed out. With Korra, I've finally got the front row seat I wish I'd had for the original series.

That said, I am a little worried about the quality of the series. The original series was a tremendous success, and we all know how network executives like to get "hands on" with shows that do well. Here's hoping the suits at Nickelodeon realize Last Airbender was so great specifically because the creators were given total freedom to tell their story, their way, with no interference from the top brass.

I'm half and half. I like the idea of seeing the world in a more stable state, but I'm also afraid I'd miss the old gang and adventures and the saving the world stuff. Sort of how I felt about DAO going to DAII, only I don't think this will suck as bad.
