Is anyone else sick of Microsoft's exclusivity?

Honestly? The only thing I am sick of are people claiming a game is exclusive when I can throw one system into a blender, snort the result and still have zero issue playing said exclusive.

Timed exclusive WHILE it's timed I give some merit to but I face palmed so hard when on my second screen I was reading how awesome it is for the 360 to be getting another brilliant exclusive soon(Minecraft)... WHILE I was being bombarded by a rather large amount of Creepers IN Minecraft. HOW CAN YOU BE GETTING A BRILLIANT EXCLUSIVE SOON WHEN PEOPLE ARE PLAYING IT NOW!

Better yet, Mass Effects exclusivity or should I say "Trilogy" excusivness! Face palmed to all fuck with this one since I don't own ANY ME on my 360 and yet I've enjoyed all of it.

Console exclusive is childish, if it's used than you're simply trying to justify a purchase you, deep down, don't believe can stand on it's on two legs and need to bloat a list to validate shit. The original Xbox needed bloating but the 360 can stand on it's own two feet so I am unsure why console exclusive is so popu... oh wait, fanboys are morons, nvm.

On the specific topic though. No, nothing to do with my owning most systems also. If a system gets some timed content or even true exclusive content then that's perfectly fine by me as long as the content isn't something that SHOULD have been in the original game.

I'm not upset, Sony does the same crap. I'm a pc guy and I would rather let the console players beta test for me while I play a thousand mods. Skyrim on console = you're doing it wrong.
Very much this, but with less 'wrong' and more 'pity toward those poor souls who play it on console.'

Wait, shouldn't this thread be about the real 'exclusive titles' behemoth, that is PC gaming? You're halfway there by mentioning Microsoft, but you named the wrong system.
I'll bite, what exclusives are you talking about? Because AAA PC exclusives (baring certain genres like RTS) have been pretty sparse these last few years.

Well, Skyrim got unbearably dull and tiring long before then end (even Yahtzee became so bored he didn't finish it), so it's not like an expansion is gonna make any change, that is unless it contains a real life pet dragon.

Oh, and PS3 and wee both have exclusives too, and I imagine if I were a Japanese Xbox owner, I'd be pretty unhappy because of that. But I don't see you complain about that.

No. Consoles have had exclusive games and content since... the Atari? Something like that. It's annoying but its not something that's going to go away.

MS (among others like Activision) has worked very hard lately to ruin gaming and games. I hate it but... cash is king. As long as morons buy that crap or sell out they'll keep ruining it and proper gaming is history. Everything is so easy, simple and closed these days it's disgusting. Modability should be mandatory for games as well. Exclusive titles is not the worst problem.

Exclusive titles blows (but is not a big problem)
PC gaming being ruined by console gaming blows
Only being able to install something like 5 times blows
Silly game prices blows
Console gaming/gamers ;) blows
Greed blows
Morons blow
No modding blows (Just an excuse to sell DLC, and a stupid one at that, since DLC still sells even though there are mods for a game)
COD: MW2 (and the later ones) blows for all those reasons except exclusivity and "you-can-only-install-it-5-times... thingy
Also the anti-piracy hysteria has gone so far it has negative and very annoying effects even for paying customers. THAT is very disturbing.

Stop being scared and greedy big gaming companies! It's scary and annoying!

Well i think that Sony has moar games exclusive to them than PC. I stayed at friends home and played through many PS2 games which were exclusive(Persona series, Front mission series, Black, Grand turismo, etc...) and i was soreley dissapointed that pc doesnt hawe those(Well i could try the emulator, but i need high end PC for that) and PC isn't as great gaming platform, as Pc games tends to be buggieer(bugful(full of bugs(not crawly but ctdy(Crash to desktop)))) and other game platforms dont need a new graphics card or bigger RAM to play new games.

The only thing actually WORTH playing on that list is Journey. (For the ps3 at least, can't speak for xbox)

There are 2 main reasons for this...

1. Microsoft likes to keep ahead of the competition, and will pay to do so.

2. This is kind of a big one.
The Xbox 360 is much easier to develop for than the PS3 and PCs.
That's why most games/DLC are made for the bob, and ported.
Some DLC packs are released for the 360, before they even work on the PS3 and PC.

Get used to it.

I wasn't aware that there was that many exclusive titles on the 360 to warrant getting sick of it!

Also, I thought the whole "We'll release Dawnguard on PS3/PC when we want" was down to Bethesda and not Microsoft? I mean sure, its good news for MS but I was under the impression that the delay was a developer choice based on development costs and testing as opposed to giving MS some kind of fantastic deal.

You're right. Bioshock and Mass Effect were terrible games.
Bioshock was an XBOX exlusive?

(Not a great game though, I would actually say it borders on terrible, but that is just my opinion).
For a year, it was, in the same way DC Universe is considered PS3 exclusive. Bioshock was first released on the 360 and PC, then came to the PS3 over a year later.

If you don't want to accept that as exclusive, though, I understand. Just replace Bioshock with Dead Rising.
Really? According to Wikipedia the PC version and the Xbox version were released on the same day.

OT: Meh, I've not been affected at all by this. I don't care about Skyrim and that's pretty much the only game where I have noticed this.

Well, to be fair, Battlefield 3 gives exclusive bonuses to PS3 owners, so it's not like it's a one-way street.

As were the PC and PS3 versions of DC Universe. Hence my statement "in the same way DC Universe is considered PS3 exclusive".

I'm sick of exclusivity end of story. I'm sure it makes sense from a business standpoint but for people that just want to play games it sucks. I really can't say much more than that.

DC Universe is not an exclusive. Nor is BioShock. If a game is released on only one platform, the game is exclusive. This isn't exactly rocket science.

But the person I initially quoted used DC Universe as an example of a great exclusive for the PS3. I was using the same logic to claim Bioshock as an exclusive.

Which makes him just as wrong as you when you claimed BioShock was an exclusive.

Nope. Or at least not specifically Microsoft. I would love to have some of Sony and Nintendo's exclusives on the 360, just to make things easier for me. But it is never going to happen.

Because exclusives are how companies get people to buy their platform. Basically every platform that has came out ever has had it's own share of exclusives.
