See, even thought I'm American this is partially how I feel. Because I know this isn't really America being invaded. This is bizzaro world America where somehow we managed to fuck up so bad that North Korea is pushing us around. I don't care what happens in the next 20 years; short of almost every major super power blowing themselves up, North Korea is not going to take over the USA. So one of the selling points of the game is lost on me because their plot is completley implausible, when they're trying to sell it as if it's not.Gralian said:Considering the game touts itself as being a 'what if your homeland was invaded' scenario, i-... oh wait, i'm British, not American. There goes the USP.
Wait... you said that like its a BAD thing?!?Zhukov said:But I'm pretty damn sure that's just marketing speak. I give it 95% chance of being yet another fucking FPS explosion-fest about Mr Super American shooting evil jabbering forigners in the face.
Deus Ex is coming out March 3rd, I believe. Same day as Dragon Age II.Woodsey said:It looks like a cheap knock-off of a CoD, with a well thought-out (so one thing better than CoD), yet completely moronic story.
RPS preview was also fairly dire.
I'm most looking forward to Crysis 2, in terms of straight out shooters. Alright, in the broader scheme of things, it's aliens invading New York, but they've got two highly-received Sci-fi authors working on the story, and whilst it's also men in big muscle-y power-suits, they're also suits that drastically differentiate it from other shooters.
I would agree with you on Brink though, I'm keeping a close eye on it. The one thing I can't get my head around is that outside of the parkour, movement looks unbelievably sluggish. Just doesn't seem to gel well, but we'll see.
Hopefully we'll get a release date for Deus Ex: Human Revolution soon, but I don't count that as a shooter.
