I liked it, but I didn't think it was as good a game as some people say. That aside though, 'good' is really a subjective term so neither I nor anyone else can say weather it's truly good or not. We can only say how we felt about it.

I thought it did an excellent job in delivering it's story, in that it chose to avoid shoving the history down your throat by cutscenes or awkward monologues. It also had a story that was quite thought-out compared to many other games, which keeps it at a "they shoot at you, shoot back" level of complexity.

I can't say THAT much about looks and gameplay, since I played it on a laptop that refused to let me play with acceptable fps unless I shut off every piece of eye-candy, and still lagged when there was alot happening...

Story, aesthetic and setting were probably the best I've seen in any game so far, but I found the gameplay very bland. Perhaps it's because I suck at FPS's.
I'll probably get shouted at for saying this, but some sort of 3rd person perspective with a nice inventory would have been preferable. Something akin to Mass Effect, crossed with classic survival horror.

The only thing i disliked about it was that all splicers became tanks in the later levels. You'd need the chemicalthrower or crossbow to kill even one of them.

BioShock is my personal favourite game. I loves the story, the setting, the characters, and most importantly, I loved plaing it. It was incredibly fun. I'm cautious about the sequal, though, as it could be really bad.

It was a really good and a creepy game. Well only creepy when you listened to the tapes with the doctor going a bit nuts over his patient. That sent shills down my spine. :)

Also first fight you see a Big daddy do, it's just awesome and I really feared him at that point. Even with the regen capsules I still didn't fight them all the time because I had low on ammo.

I like the atmosphere and the story seemed cool, but the gameplay was excruciatingly painful.

This is my back-burner game. I don't play many FPS games, but I loved the look of this so much that I keep it for when I'm really in the mood... then I love it. I don't rush around or over analyse it, I just drink it in :)

I really enjoyed the small part of the game I was able to play, but I watched my friend play through basically the entire game, and the story is awesome.

I played Bioshock until the point where they said and now you get this camera that magically makes you better at killing that particular enemy. I stopped and never looked back.

The GOTY for 2007. 2007 was a good year for games. Does that tell you anything?
CoD4 came out in '07... wasn't THAT the game of the year? Or is the voting retarded and Duty 4 won for '08? Or are we talking about two different groups deciding on different titles?

I need answers!

I found it to be one of the most mundane games to grace my console. There was not one thing about this game that i found desierable. The story, weapons, the characters, none of it appealed to me.

It's a really good game and I enjoyed playing it. I'm also going to buy BioShock 2 even though I know it's not going to be as good. I'm just getting it for the story.
