I don?t think I?ve ever been this hyped for a game(only Resident Evil 4 comes close), and I?ve been playing videogames for over 25 years. Everything I?ve seen so far from the game is so freakin amazing! Mind, I?m a Souls fan so I?m probably a bit biased here but the whole setting, world design and gameplay has me sooo excited.
I love the darker feel of the whole Victorian setting compared to Souls. It has a kind of mystery and ambiance that is just utterly compelling. The premise of playing a wandering soul attracted to a town that might contain a cure for an affliction that turns humans into beasts sound kick-ass, and the way they seem to integrate it into the gameplay sounds even better. The faster pace of the gameplay also just looks so fantastic. The defensive approach in Souls was great but Bloodborne seems to take this formula and make it more nervous and urgent, with a higher degree of immediacy on the combat and less emphasis on blocking(while still maintaining the tactical pace of Souls).
Ofcourse let?s not forget Miyazaki?s touch! The creative genius who directed Demon?s and Dark Souls seems to be at the top of his game with Bloodborne, with atmosphere so intriguing it makes the wait for this game excruciating! I can only hope the game makes the estimated time window of early next year, which wouldn't even be that far off anymore.
I always think its a bad idea to get this hyped for a game, but with Bloodborne, I can?t contain it!
So what do you guys think?
