I take great offense to this. I am not now nor shall I ever be a brony. I'd like to see the show canceled and replaced with something more worth while like watching paint dry or grass grow. Really anything counts as more worth while in my opinion.
As the father of a four year old daughter, let me assure you that there are MANY things less worthwhile than MLP. It's one of about four shows that she enjoys that doesn't make me want to pierce my eardrums and blind myself.

He might be talking about the cereal Apple Jacks which recently released a new related cereal, Cinnamon Jacks.

Course even if he's not, then no. From what I can see Bronies seem to be incredibly obnoxious and overzealous constant spewers of worship for there favored piece of media to the level of an autistic child stuck in a loop of thought and words. Or maybe that's just the super obnoxious minority that feels the need to make a big issue out of what people are fans of.

He appears to be talking about this game [http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-GB/Product/Apple-Jack-2/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d80258550b4d].

Luckily for me, there doesn't seem to be a particularly large following in the UK. I only know one person who has ever watched it.

(We also don't have the cereal Apple Jacks. I don't know whether I should be grateful for that or not.)

Yeah... I'm not buying the "entirely new show" thing. We live in a time and age where we're encouraged to throw overboard everything we know about anything to quickly appreciate (i.e. consume) its newest recycled form. No disrespect for MLP or its fanbase, I'm just not a fan of revisionism of any kind. I read about MLP and all I can think of is this:

I agree with you somewhat. Recycling old ideas over and over can lead to a creative dearth. However it is nice to use old ideas as a jumping off point to create great franchises. For instance, Battlestar Galactica, and Nolan's Batman series. Though sometimes, it doesn't work out so well: V.

I can't speak for anyone but I like the new My Little Pony because it's good. It's just that simple. It has nothing to do with it's history or the fanbase. The show itself is good. End of story.

Other shows I like: My Life as a Teenage Robot, Stargate Universe, 24, House, Awake, FlashForward, Doctor Who, et al. Funnily enough, with the exception of Doctor Who, all those shows are off the air.

Who cares what came before!? My Little Pony has interesting characters and a compelling plot (most of the time but I think it's best to ignore this season for now). It has nothing to do with the branding. Make all the characters gerbils, and it would be just as compelling... possibly more so.

Honestly, if the only reason you're avoiding the show is because the franchise originated in the 80s, you're needlessly crippling yourself. I'm not saying you have to watch it, because I'm not that much of an asshole. I just think that's a really bad reason.

Some other guy tried to explain to me why it was so good but I stopped reading at the word 'Equestria'. Sorry dude, I just can't take ponies too seriously. Evidently there're a lot of people out there who do and that's fine? I'll just sit the fad out and look amused from the sidelines.

I just automatically assume everyone in America is a brony now to be honest.
I'm not, but my girlfriend is. I worry about it spreading every day.

Evidently not clear.

Because ponies...wait, that doesn't work in this situation. I guess I'll blame it on the Doctor.

Well, if you read the fifth question down, it seems like he at least enjoys the show. Ask a brony why they like My Little Pony and you'll get something extremely close to the first half of that paragraph. Does he identify as a brony? No idea.
